I’ll stick with the General Field too.

2010: “Use Somebody” instead of “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” for SOTY

2011: “The House That Built Me” instead of “Need You Now” for SOTY

    2012: Nothing.

2013: Frank Ocean instead of Fun. for BNA

2014: Red instead of Random Access Memories for AOTY

2015: “Take Me to Church” instead of “Stay with Me” for SOTY

    2016: Nothing.

    2017: Nothing.

2018: “Redbone” instead of “24K Magic” for ROTY

2019: “The Joke” instead of “This Is America” for SOTY

1972: I’m very glad that Carole King’s Tapestry won Album of the Year (as well as three other Grammys), but I wish that the original concept recording of Jesus Christ Superstar didn’t have to be up against it. That would’ve been nice if those two albums competed in separate years so they could both be Grammy winners.

In my opinion, “In Color” from Jamey Johnson should’ve been named the Best Country Song in early 2009. You will never convince me that “Stay” from Sugar Land is the better song.

God bless you and Jamey and his co-writers always!!!

Joanne was a beautiful heartwarming song. It totally deserved to win. It wouldn’t have deserved to win if the category was based on popularity/chart performance, but it is not.

While I think GIAW is better, Joanne was definitely a close second in terms of quality and a deserved win. They’re both better than Havana or specially Better Now.

“Joanne” is an incredibly beautiful song, “Joanne (Where Do You Think You’re Goin’?)” is an unnecessary drag

Joanne was the worst song nominated in that category by an absolute mile.

Sicko Mode was viciously overrated. It’s fine. I’d rather them give it to Kendrick than anything Drake related.

“Sicko Mode” is great and would have been deserving, but I support anything Kendrick winning over Drake. Sorry, not sorry.

    ——-

Besides Kendrick winning AOTY for all three of his studio albums, here are some I would have changed:

2018 – SZA over The Weeknd in Best Urban Contemporary Album
2014 – Kendrick Lamar over Macklemore & Ryan Lewis in Best Rap Album
2005 – Kanye West over Maroon 5 in Best New Artist
2003 – Aaliyah over Mary J. Blige in Best Female R&B Vocal Performance
2001 – Jill Scott over Shelby Lynne in Best New Artist
1998 – Notorious B.I.G. (or anyone else) over Will Smith in Best Rap Solo Performance
1997 – Whitney Houston over Toni Braxton in Best Female R&B Vocal Performance
1985 – Prince over Lionel Richie in Album of the Year
1984 – Bonnie Taylor over Irene Cara in Best Female Pop Vocal Performance

Basically all the AOTY winners recently lol

    2019: Janelle Monae over Kacey

    2018: Lorde over Bruno

2017: Beyoncé (or David Bowie or Frank Ocean or Grimes if nominated) over Adele

    2016: Kendrick over Taylor

    2015: Beyoncé over Beck

2014: I was ok at Daft Punk’s win, didn’t care about any of the nominees that year and can’t think of a true great album from that elegibility year to win

2013: Frank Ocean (or anyone) over Mumford and Sons

    2012: Gaga over Adele

    2011: Gaga over Arcade Fire

2010: Gaga over Taylor Swift because those nominees were a mess

I dont fuckin care. Gaga’s prime was Gaga’s prime and deserved 3 consecutive AOTY (also ROTY and SOTY this year)

Gaga definitely did NOT deserve to win over Adele. She didn’t even deserve a nom over MBDTF.
