the song is doing exceptionally well for a debut … just wow. i think it’s way too soon to conclude whether she’ll be a big act or not.. she just has one song out but she definitely has potential. her label is also pushing her rn so the streams are gonna go way up today and a top 10 debut is quite possible.

I think some of the success has to do with tik tok as well. The song has done really well there and a lot of rumors started going around since she had been rumored to have been dating her costar in a Disney show on Disney plus who also actually releases music but hasn’t seen nearly as much success. None of this is confirmed, but apparently people say because he was an adult and she was 16, he told her he would wait until she was of age and they could date then. Also, he apparently taught her how to drive. I guess it was a surprise for her because he started dating Sabrina carpenter, hence the blonde girl thing. It definitely makes the song more sad knowing the story of its true in my opinion, but it’s just a rumor that was around on tik tok with all this evidence so I don’t know. But I’m sure that plays into the hype at the moment as well. I’ve seen a ton of videos about it on my for you page today as well. That being said I really like the song and think she’s really talented and deserves the success.

I’m used to GD hyping up overrated trash but “drivers license” is OK. This Olivia girl doesn’t give me Taylor or Lorde vibes at all. Maybe Alessia Cara?

I think we have to see other songs by her. But this is a good song and it is already number one on iTunes. The youtube videos were barely a million last night at like midnight, and right now it is 5.3 which means it is blowing up. She also has doubled in subscribers. It’s also been given good reactions so I think that it could have a top 20 debut which is amazing for a debut single by a girl who is known for the Disney plus show. Excited to see her future.
