ReplyCopy URLMay 28, 2021 at 4:37 pm #1204277037Wait…”All For You” missed ROTY? Without researching I would’ve sworn that was a nominee. It was one of the biggest singles of 2001. Wtf.
ReplyCopy URLMay 28, 2021 at 4:42 pm #1204277043Honey, damn near all of Janet Jackson’s earlier songs sound either Pop or R&B. “Love Will Never Do (Without You)” could’ve been submitted in either or.

Yes. It was horribly snubbed for ROTY. It only got one nomination for Best Dance Recording and won. All For You was everywhere during 2001 and Janet was even honored by MTV and performed the song.

That’s some BS. After looking up the nominees, I would swap “Drops of Jupiter” or “Walk On” out with “All For You”. Even “Lady Marmalade” was snubbed in ROTY….

2001 was a great year for popular music. Even N*Sync’s “Pop” was snubbed for ROTY and Best Dance Recording.

I remember No Sleeep was submitted to Pop field instead of R&B field.

I soo agree they did! Miss Janet should’ve got at least one Grammy for her work on “Control”. The fact that Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis won (Grammys ’87) POTY without any of their work winning is shady AF.
ReplyCopy URLMay 28, 2021 at 5:33 pm #1204277131That’s The Way Love Goes is the biggest snub when it comes to Song and Record.

A mess.

She lost her Best Female R&B Vocal nomination to Anita Baker’s Rapture and lost the Album of the Year.
