In the late 1980’s and early 1990’s, Janet Jackson, Madonna and Paula Abdul were considered the queens of the dance-pop revolution. They each made music that had intense choreography; jamming beats and that you could dance too. They also paired their catchy songs with memorable videos that featured elobrate dance numbers.
They all had their ups and downs career wise, but who do you think truly reigned as the Queen of the Dance-Pop Revolution?
One could argue that Paula’s choreography influenced both Madge and Janet; she directly worked with Janet at one point; but history clearly shows that Janet and Madonna had longer careers than Paula.
I’d say Madonna and Janet are tied creatively; they both had major influence on other artists and even each other. Janet at one point was the most successful female artist working. Sure, she’s had a lull since 04, but Madonna is starting to have that same lull now.
Who wins? Madonna? Janet or Paula?
