I like Bruno Mars’ music but I’ll say JT overall.November 12, 2014 at 10:39 am #403881
It’s interesting because Justin Timberlake takes the most risks with his music, even going into the foray of rapping with his friends Jay-Z and T.I., in fact just last year “Mirrors” because one of my favourite songs of all-time. But he almost never getting rewarded for said risks. Even though I greatly enjoyed The 20/20 Experience, a lot of people didn’t and he didn’t even get the ROTY/SOTY nominations he so very much deserved for “Mirrors” anyways.
And Bruno Mars makes pretty much the same song over and over (or at least the ones that got him the most success), the bouncy pop song with a love/sex theme. While he does repeat his success a lot, those songs are frequently played and beloved, while some songs that showed his wide vocal range like “When I Was Your Man” have only moderate success, my friend even saying that was the only song on Unorthodox Jukebox that he didn’t like.
So yeah this is a tough one. Both are different, and yet both are similar. I will say Bruno Mars because of his vocal range and how in the future he could make a really killer ballad that could win him ROTY/SOTY. But this is an only slight victory as I love both these performers. I also applaud JT for doing something different.

Justin Timberlake wins this one (barely).November 12, 2014 at 6:39 pm #403884
I feel like Bruno has so much more potential than Justin, but Justin has such a good catalog to ignore. Justin barely squeaks by for the win.November 12, 2014 at 6:54 pm #403885
JT of couresNovember 12, 2014 at 9:27 pm #403886
That’s a tricky one for me because I never got the JT hype. He has a nice body of work but I don’t like his voice and I always feel like he is trying too hard with his “artistic persona”. On the other hand, I think Bruno Is a much more natural showman (for a lack of better word) but even though I enjoyed his albums I don’t think he has reached his full potential yet. I would give a confidence vote to Bruno on this one.April 28, 2016 at 4:05 pm #1201822436
Justin Timberlake just confirmed his upcoming studio album to be released late this year.
it will be produced by Max Martin, Pharrell and Timbaland.
Bruno Mars could be releasing his next album by the same timeApril 28, 2016 at 6:36 pm #1201822469
Justin Timberlake has a great body of work. He created some of the decade’s biggest and most acclaimed pop songs: “Cry Me A River”, “What Goes Around Comes Around”, “Sexyback”.
Bruno Mars’has so much more potential than the music he’s put out. His cheesy ballads are too formulaic and interchangeable compared to Justin.April 28, 2016 at 8:38 pm #1201822485

Bruno Mars. Vocally he’s stronger. His showmanship is also more impressive. I’ve never seen JT break into the splits on stage. He’s used to impersonating MJ.
