All years she wasn’t the deserving winner so this is fair.

    2001 – R&B PERFORMANCE – FEMALE

Toni Braxton “He Wasn’t Man Enough” – WINNER
    Aaliyah – “Try Again”
    Erykah Badu – “Bag Lady”
Kelly Price – “As We Lay”
Jill Scott – “Gettin’ in the Way”

I think Erykah Badu and Jill Scott cancelled each other out.

I would have voted for Jill Scott for Gettin’ In The Way. I do remember that whenever Jill Scott and Erykah Badu competed against each other – they both lost.

I like both Wonderful and He Proposed. The Grammys should have spread the wealth. But Kelly is a vocal goddess so I can see her win a Grammy by her next try.

Aretha and TLC should not have won those categories.

Heartbreak Hotel had much better vocals than all of the nominees, but TLC had the lyrics and production. My vote would have been for Heartbreak Hotel

Do you think that Kelly Price deserved to get nominated for R&B Female for Friend of Mine?

Wasn’t that a collaboration with Ron Isley & R. Kelly?

If so, I’d replace “Lean On Me” or “Stay” with “Friend of Mine” in the R&B Duo/Group category.

The remix was a collaboration. The original was a solo performance.

I saw Ronald Isley in concert and Kelly Price sang back up for him. R Kelly was in the audience and Ronald Isley wanted him to come up and sing, but he had a broken ankle so they passed the microphone to R Kelly and he sang Happy Birthday to Ronald Isley. This was a year before Kelly Price’s debut album.
