I think what’s best for her right now is to keep the ASIB sound of “folk pop”. And with “Shallow” possibly reaching #1 this week, I think she will do that.

Well her famous collaborator DJWS (who produced most of her dance songs) confirmed that he’s no longer working on her new album because she changed direction. So I think you’re right. She’ll probably rely more on Mark Ronson, Hillary Lindsey etc…

I don’t think that’s a good idea. Look at Joanne. The only reason why she is going #1 is the performance from the Oscars and it’s after this week it’s gonna plummet after the first few weeks.

I mean it’s obvious why it’s going to plummet, not because it isn’t big but because it has 0 pop radio support. It’s not even in the TOP50. And radio weight is huge in BB100 calculation. So the fact that it’ll reach #1 without radio is impressive in itself.

Again, you can’t deny that she is probably get this number one because of the Oscar performance, it’s probably one of the best ones ever. But you are capable to see that Lady Gaga doesn’t change up. It’s would be far more interesting to see her rival to electro pop rather her folk music.

Oscar Performance has an audience of 30M. You know that 7 rings for example has an audience of 100M thanks to radio?

So what Oscar Performance did is give Shallow 1/3 of the audience/exposure of the former #1 songs.

There were many songs performed at the Oscars this decade. Only one is going #1, and it’s because people discovered it and loved it.

I apologize but I’m hoping for an evolution of sound in the next album. I do not want a continuation of Joanne and I’m fairly certain most of her fans would agree. Gaga used to make creative, perfectly Pop crafted songs and it’d be cool if she tried something new instead of sticking to the same old formula like she used to do when she first broke out in stardom. She used to be this hot commodity when she changed and reinvented herself every era. This is what made her very exciting.

Not just that, I find it hard to believe Pop radio will show support if she continues the folk/country pop sound. None of the Joanne singles went beyond Top 15 (Perfect Illusion was a fluke because it had a radio deal) and even Shallow, a single from a popular film with massive customer demand, couldn’t go past Top 20. Gaga and her team needs to think this one through and make something that’ll appeal to everyone if they want to regain Pop support.

Shallow previously peaked at #5 when it was released and it will repeak even higher this week, potentially reaching #1 with no airplay.

You omitted an important part of my comment. If you read my whole response, you’d see I was talking about Pop radio in that paragraph.

I’m well aware Shallow is very successful without Pop support, but you cannot deny the fact that it did not go past Top 20 on that format. Fortunately, the single connected really well with the consumers but without a film, I am not sure how her next album/single will fare…Especially if she does not get enough Pop support. Which is why I said in the last sentence in that she should do something that appeal to everyone, meaning Pop radio and the consumers. Maybe she could continue the folk sound but make it Poppy enough to please Pop radio. Or be exciting and evolve the sound once again!

    Try another genre!

    Rock
    Alternative
    R&B
    Electric again!

    2023: TAR, Banshees, Whale, and Empire of Light;
    The Batman for below-the-line

That’s what happened with Kacey Musgraves when she released Rainbow after her Grammy sweep. Don’t compare a 3 Hour show that equivales to 30 million televised televisions towards a week of streaming for a 4 minute song.

Electronic has changed from her beginning as an artist. That’s what I’ve been waiting to see because she is so mature now it feels werid.

I’m personally hoping for her next album to be ARTPOP‘s little sister. That album did not get the justice it deserves.

Have been looking for her to do more dark and dirty pop tracks a la “Heavy Metal Lover” on Born This Way too.

If she goes less electronic pop, I hope she tries alternative rock/pop. I think she could pull off disco as well! Please god no country or Americana… One era was more than enough.

I think the ASIB era will last a little longer. I feel like “Always Remember Us This Way” will be another single…. Then they move on.

imo, its the best song in the movie. ot sounds like classic 70s Elton John
