But the gag is, what if “Sour Candy” goes #1 and not ROM….

Chile… It looks like ROM doesn’t have a radio deal lol.
Did they spend the whole budget on the MV?May 24, 2020 at 7:11 am #1203498306
Not a lot. But SWU was sort of Ariana’s comeback. She hadn’t released anything for like 9 months before SWU? So SWU took that comeback anticipation effect. But at the same time ROM is a special collaboration. I think most people were interested in checking it out. But seeing reactions on twitter, Ariana fans really prefer ROM. She fed them in that MV. We haven’t seen her do something as poppy as that in years. Like when was the last time we saw her do an actual full choreography? In the long term, people will remember ROM more than SWU.
Ariana has been releasing a shit ton of music between TUN and SWU. (Boyfriend, Don’t Call Me Angel, Good As Hell, Charlies Angels album, Live Tour Album, Time with Gambino). SWU was no comeback.

“Rain On Me” — Spotify Streams:
1st Day: 10.193.617
2nd Day: 7.950.384
So a drop of roughly 21% only. We don’t know how much will be discounted though.
The MV is still at #1. Mr Rodriguez really served. It looks like people really like it. So far it is the fastest gaining MV of the year.May 24, 2020 at 7:14 am #1203498312

WW numbers are pretty good. A drop of only 16% on its second day. The U.S numbers aren’t as good. But then SWU and Heartless dropped to 1.5M and 1.7M respectively on their second days.May 24, 2020 at 8:08 am #1203498390
ROM, as of now, expected to debut at #1 in the U.K
This is only counting sales though. It has some competition when you take streaming into account.
The song is surprisingly serving longevity. So happy for her.

I’m curious to hear what Elton John vocals over some house beat would sound like lol…May 25, 2020 at 12:18 am #1203499501

It’s looking like ROM is doing much better than Stupid Love and Stuck With You in stability and pure sales. So it’s an improvement for both Gaga and Ariana:May 25, 2020 at 1:37 am #1203499546
