Plastic Doll is very Robyn inspired.

The physical copy is amazing,  I saw a few pictures on twitter and they are insane. I would definitely get it, although I would prefer to wait for a Vynil with that art.

Agreed, Sine From Above is such a serve. I need to see them live performing it. That’d be epic. I would just remove the weird outro but everything about the song is perfect. Lyrically it’s the strongest track on the album.

Babylon is like more gay and sassy though. I’m not saying by any means that it’ll find the same mainstream as those songs. But as soon as you hear the song, you’ll know it takes inspiration from those two songs.

Sour Candy is definitely growing on me. However i have questions:
    1) why did they release the song today when it’s ROM’a last tracking day
    2) why did they release it today if the album is arriving tomorrow.
    3) couldn’t this harm its hot 100 debut?

Every song on this album sounds like a Eurovision song.

So I listened to Chromatica a 3rd time. It’s more of a grower album. I can’t judge from the first listen. My major complaint about this album is the way Gaga’s vocals were produced. I understand it’s an EDM album, but put down that shit Bloodpop.

    Full review:

    Alice: 8/10

Catchy chorus, nice instrumental, should’ve been one of the options for the lead single. Really superior to Stupid Love.

    Stupid Love: 7/10
Decent song overall, but very underwhelming chorus.

    Rain On Me: 9.5/10
This song is just the best song I’ve heard from Gaga in a while. If this doesn’t become a hit, I don’t know what will. Ariana slayed her verse.

    Free Woman: 8.5/10
Empowering lyrics. Has a pretty nice beat drop that reminds me of ROM. It almost feels like a solo version of ROM.

    Fun Tonight: 7/10
I love the chorus. The song gives me 2000s vibes but Gaga’s vocals feel overproduced. Bloodpop wtf you’re doing here.

    911: 6/10
Ehh.. Not for me. But others like it. Maybe I’m getting older.

    Plastic Doll: 6.5/10
Reminds me of Netta’s Toy. It’s whatever

    Sour Candy: 8.5/10
Catchy, Sassy, gay, sexual. I love it.

    Enigma: 7.5/10
BOP, although a little bit underdeveloped. Could be better. The pre-chorus sounds a lot like Hallucinate.

    Replay: 7/10
Catchy, but the production isn’t that great on this song.

    Sine From Above: 9/10
One of the best on this album. This song is such a grower. It shows Gaga’s amazing vocal capability especially in the second chorus with those high note harmonies. Elton John singing over EDM sound is all I needed from 2020.

    1000 Doves: 6/10
    Not bad but whatever.

    Babylon: 9.5/10
Unapologetically gay. A bop. Saying otherwise is homophobia. Pretty short but full of joy, enjoyable and very catchy.

    Overall: 7.69/10

First review of Chromatica is in:
    https://riotmag.co/album-review-lady-gaga-chromatica

“Chromatica is luminous and thunderous and perfect for any club night, with Gaga serving disco sci-fi realness. The slight problem with it is that it relies on EDM and house influences as a crunch. There’s no doubt about Gaga’s talent — all of her eras have shown a different side to her artistry and singer-songwriter ability. The club and dance influence is definitely a welcomed and infectious return, but felt too autotuned and bass-heavy. But hey, a new Gaga record is better than no Gaga record, and Chromatica is a collection of infectious and joyful dance tracks that’ll have you grooving all night long (alone in your bedroom, but still).”

The same complaint I had. The album is really let down by the vocal production. Gaga’s best vocals are when they’re actually raw.
