Which era, album, singles, artistry, tour, etc. are better?

Janet Jackson’s album is way better than Madonna’s.

    Rhythm Nation all the way!

Actually, Janet’s string of records from Control to Velvet Rope is just perfect!

Madonna. She changed the culture on that short period of time.

There’s no contest, Like A Prayer is the better one

The Oscar needs to get rid of the preferential ballot so it can name a deserving movie as Best Picture again.

Rhythm Nation 1814 for sure. From front to back it is just a better all around album than “Like A Prayer” which in my opinion is a weak album aside from its singles. I also think that Janet’s album simply wins for having more to say about the world and for its socially conscious themes.

“Like a Prayer” and it is not even close. The title track has become the signature song of perhaps the biggest female musical artist in recent history. Even sub-par performances of the song such as the one from the Super Bowl are show-stoppers. There is nothing even remotely as iconic or lasting on Rhythm Nation 1814.

Rhythm Nation for me. You had the title track, Miss You Much, Alright, Escapade, Come Back To Me, Black Cat and Love Will Never Do Without You that were the singles that were released in the United States.
