“7 Rings” broke the VEVO record, spent more weeks at #1, and is the more recent video. However, I agree that TUN is the better song/visual of the two.

She will win VOTY for either.

Thank U, Next broke the record, not 7 rings.

I think that for now the Video Of The Year category is closed:

Ariana Grande – Thank U, Next
Cardi B & Bruno Mars – Please Me
    Jonas Brothers – Sucker
Kanye West & Lil Pump – I Love It
Post Malone & Swae Lee – Sunflower
    Taylor Swift – TBA

Also if anyone has predictions please let some of us know!

Sometimes the VMAS does surprises like making new categories so anything can happen. Also do you think Shallow will be nominated even if it’s just A Star Is Born scenes?

I think they’ll nominate if they want to lol. MTV can be really weird when choosing artists they want to honor and can make choices like Love Me Like You Do for Best Female when it’s basically Fifty Shades scenes plus random Ellie Goulding ones, Single Ladies for Visual Effects (???) and Chantaje for Best Latin last year when it was released in 2016.

At least Shallow has Gaga and Brad singing in the song and the video itself. And if they feel like it they’ll bring Video from a Film to prize it. Also that depends if they’ll give her the Vanguard and if she accepts as there’s rumours she refused twice.

As for VOTY, it’s clear it’s going to be Ariana’s night and Thank U, Next is the choice as it was the most hyped one when released and the better product overall. 7 rings might score some technical nods like art direction or cinematography, maybe even Pop video. She’s probably having around 10 nominations in the end and gonna be the most nominated of the night

I would say Taylor should be getting a lot of noms with ME!. It’s a fresh hit and it’ll make up for the LWYMMD snub of the century. Could see it taking VSX as well. VOTY could be a win but that’s all fan voted and sometimes Arianators out vote Swifties vice versa.

Also MTV spreads the wealth with the winners so:
Video of the year – ME!
Song Of the year – Shallow
Artist Of the year – Beyoncé
    New Artist – Billie Eilish
    Group – BTS
Push Artist of the year – Bazzi
    Collaboration – Boy With Luv
    Pop – Sucker
    Hip Hop – Money
    Rock – Youngblood
    Dance – Taki Taki

Honey I think Taylor and Jonas Brothers together have more fans than Ariana, but i’m not sayin this only cuz i don’t like her because i like Ariana but you know MTV decides eveything in the end. But I think Ariana should take at least 1 award (“No Tears Left To Cry” thankfully won for Pop Video) specially for “Thank U, Next” which is million times better than 7 Rings itself I mean 7 Rings isn’t bad as I think but also not one of her really best songs, but the video is good.

If Ariana’s label would be smart then her submissions would look like this:

Video Of The Year – Thank U, Next
Song Of The Year – Thank U, Next
Artist Of The Year – 7 Rings
Pop Video – Thank U, Next
Video With A Message – God Is A Woman
    Direction – Thank U, Next
    – 7 Rings
    Art Direction – 7 Rings
    Cinematography – Thank U, Next
    – 7 Rings
    Choreography – 7 Rings
    Editing – Thank U, Next
    – 7 Rings
Visual Effects – God Is A Woman

I think she’ll submit this way

thank u, next – VOTY, Pop Video, Best Art Direction, Best Direction
    7 rings – SOTY, Choreography
break up with your girlfriend, i’m bored – Best Editing, Best Cinematography
God is a woman – Best Video with a Message, Best Visual Effects, Best Direction
Herself – Artist of the Year

“ME!” winning VOTY feels more like fan wish fulfillment. In reality, it will more than likely go to Ariana Grande. She’s the “it” girl of 2019. And as we’ve seen in the past, that tends to help. Ask Camila Cabello.

Im also 100% certain that Ariana will sweep the show. She lost last year so her stans will make sure she gets any type of win that she can. Taylor Swift will get her slew of noms after being “snubbed” last year but I don’t think she’ll win much. Me seems like a front loaded type while thank u next was a phenomenon. Kanye won’t get any noms after the mess he blurts out. And some kind of way, Beyoncé will be included. What she is to the VMAs is what Meryl Streep is to the Golden Globes.

    VOTY:
    Ariana Grande- Thank u next
Cardi B & Bruno Mars- Please Me
    Drake- In My Feelings
    Jonas Brothers- Sucker
    Taylor Swift- ME!

This show is getting shittier and shittier but here’s my predictions:

Video Of The Year: Thank U Next
Artist Of The Year: Taylor Swift
    Song Of The Year: Shallow
    Best Collaboration: Shallow
    Pop Video: Without Me
    Vanguard Award: Probably Gaga
