With You is my favorite so far. I think the album will ballpark debut between 10-20k SPS. This is actually good for her since she is so far in her career.

I love all three tracks for different reasons. But, “The Distance is my fave so far!

I liked ‘GTFO’ originally but grew to hate it. I’ve never liked ‘With You’ but I love ‘The Distance’.

Hopefully Mariah does a tour bundle to get a decent first week. A good target with a tour bundle for her would be 50k units.

Yeah, those three songs are REALLY good.

“With You” & “GTFO” deserve to be bigger hits. But radio is so ageist! SMH. Weren’t they Top 5 on iTunes?

Anyway, she just announced tour dates as well. Anyone else going?

    I definitely am!

Holy crap have you guys seen the reviews for this album? Metacritic has this album at 83% indicating “universal acclaim” and each review I read is glowing, if not raving. They are saying this is her best album in years, her freshet in decades and the album that she should have been making all along!

She’s never been a Grammy fav and has been looked at as a bit of joke the last few years. However, I wonder if the response to this album can help it get in the R&B field next year.

Yeah radios won’t heavily rotate songs by women over the age of 30. It’s well known bias.

Even Beyoncé’s formation singles like “Sorry” which were very successful couldn’t reach higher peaks on BB100 because of radio snub. Same with Gaga. Notice how both artists solely manage to remain relevant thanks to their strong sales/streams, not radio. That’s the deal for +30 women. If you want to remain relevant, you need strong sales or streams unfortunately.

Just look at the current Pop TOP40. Only 2 women over the age of 30 are there: https://kworb.net/radio/ (Gaga and Sia)

    It’s really sad.

Her staying power, besides her immense talents are one her enduring strengths in the dog eat dog business known as the music industry. Caution, after a number of listens, is within my top 5 albums of hers in her entire catalog! It is very apparent, she didn’t go for a specific formula to craft a hit, she just got in a huddle with the writers/producers and did EXACTLY what she wanted to do. She should be so proud of herself, and i’m sure she is, of what came out the sessions for Caution. Standout tracks are: “Caution”, “A No No” “The Distance” Stay Long Love You”and “Giving Me Life”.

I think Roc Nation/Epic/Sony is staying clear with pushing Caution anymore until January, because they know now more than ever with streaming that Mariah’s got a serious shot at scoring her 19th #1 hit with “All I Want For Christmas Is You.”

But in January… Look out for the JD-produced So So Def Remix of “A No No” featuring Cardi B, Lil Kim and Missy Elliot. I think the label will give this a serious push since its her one shot at hit single from Caution.

Honey, Mariah Carey needs to stop trying to be young.  No more collaborating with rappers.
