Like every year, Metacritic is collecting year-end rankings from multiple music sources, to find out which are the most acclaimed albums of the year.
There’s already a thread, I think, about everyone’s favourite records released in 2016 but in case anyone is interested, like me, in more official and popular rankings, now we have a thread specific for that.
http://www.metacritic.com/feature/critics-pick-top-10-best-albums-of-2016?ref=hpPretty banal to say, but I see David Bowie, Nick Cave, Beyoncé, Radiohead and Frank Ocean making the final top 5. Maybe Leonard Cohen.

So far I’m also surprised to see Iggy Pop’s work recognized by 3 lists already (personally I didn’t find it that good).November 28, 2016 at 2:00 pm #1201957926Rolling Stone: 50 Best albums of 2016

But I do not understand how VIEWS and Lady Wood ended up in the top 50 of Rolling Stone. Sad 🙁November 28, 2016 at 4:14 pm #1201958010Glad to see some respectable criticism sources are resisting having the highly overrated Lemonade on their lists. Rolling Stone, unfortunately, quit respectability a long time ago.
She’s on every year end list so far…
And Consequence of Sound and Rolling Stone, the two most important, have her at #1. You’ll be miserable come Grammy nominations.
ReplyCopy URLNovember 28, 2016 at 5:11 pm #1201958037Death at those Britney and Gaga stans who really thought they would even come close to being on any list. Well, at least Britney did get into a top 10 list finally….the worst songs of 2016 by TIME lmfao. Glad they also recognized that 7 Years is shitty. And people will continue to be pressed that Lemonade keeps succeeding. And Grammy nominations coming too? Will be so satisfying to seeing people on here seethe especially these little sand trolls.

lol Lady Wood is almost a masterpiece
ReplyCopy URLNovember 28, 2016 at 7:07 pm #1201958105Keen to see bee-tch fuming when Bey-o’er-rated gets snubbed at Grammy night. Self-titled snub at 2015 Urban Contemporary. Never forget. Still laughing at juvenile Taylor Swift snatching Bey-shitonce’s weave at 2010 Album of the Year. Of all people Bey-crappé could have lost to, lol. Never forget. Giggling at Bey’s lack of hits this decade. So much for defining this decade in music. Gagging at Bey paying “critics” and using her Grammy-voter father so she can continually get her ass sucked. Thankfully her revealed lipping at 2014 Grammys screwed her chances in the following awards season when Beck snatched her weave. Never forget. Have your Chinese-air-pollution-masks ready for when the hive and bee-tch start fuming upon Grammy night conclusion in February!
Screaming at you copying and pasting this, which shows your stupidity along with your other burnt accounts. So lazy, just like Joanne and just like Knee stans when they refused to buy Gloryhole.
ReplyCopy URLNovember 29, 2016 at 12:15 am #1201958275To be precise, Beyoncé is present in 3 rankings out of 13 so far, so I wouldn’t say she’s “ending up on all the top year end list”
