These are 3 Globally influential female artist who have inspired so many. All 3 had outstanding achievements during their first decades (and after). After completing this, I was SHOCKED beyond words to find out how successful Whitney Houston truly was. I knew her as the greatest singer I’ve heard, but I did not realize she had that much success.

Who do you vote for? Let’s go!!!!

madonna re-defined the way female pop stars are packaged, what she established has only been updated (rather than revolutionalized as some people claim) by miss germanotta since, and she actually made interesting albums unlike the other two, so there you go

Whitney. She was successful in music and movies. Madonna and Mariah did end up achieving some success in films but it took them awhile longer.

    Def Madonna.

She sold more, had more global hits, huge tours and had the biggest cultural impact.

Plus, she delivered the best and more diversed music.

I voted for Whitney. I am listening to more of Whitney Houston’s songs the most of the three.

The funny thing is that Whitney and Madonna faced off at the Grammys in Pop Female in 1986 with Whitney’s Saving All My Love For You prevailing over Madonna’s Crazy For You.

Whitney & Mariah faced off 4 times during this era – Whitney winning for Pop Female I Will Always Love You over Mariah’s Dreamlover. Mariah won for Vision of Love over Whitney’s I’m Your Baby Tonight. They both lost to Bonnie Raitt’s Something To Talk About – both All The Man I Need and Emotions (the album) in Pop Female in 1992. Both lost in R&B Female in 1998 for Whitney’s I Believe In You & Me and Mariah’s Honey lost to Erykah Badu’s On & On. I actually would have voted for Patti LaBelle’s When You Talk About Love.

Mariah and Madonna faced off in Pop Album, but lost to Joni Mitchell in an upset in 1996. Mariah’s Daydream should have won. Madonna’s Bedtime Stories was also nominated in Pop Album in 1996.

Actually Madonna was nominated for Pop Female in 1986 for Crazy For You and in 1987 for Poppa Don’t Preach.

All three all brilliant. I’d put Madonna at 1, Whitney at 2 and Mariah at 3. That said, you could make arguments for any of them…

On a side note, all of them are woefully underrepresented when it comes to the Grammys. The fact that Taylor Swift has more wins than all of them is beyond depressing.
