It won’t be virtual performances. Artists will be in attendance.

If no major video gets released anymore, I feel like it’ll be an easy win for Gaga and Ariana. At least if MTV doesn’t nominate BLACKPINK, but I don’t think they will in VOTY. None of the rap and R&B acts really have the fanbase to win a voting award against those two. Gaga winning 2010 and 2020 will be also be a nice history repeating itself moment.

August 30th, lol. MTV are idiots if they think they’re going to have a regular show. Just make it virtual like the BET Awards. No one cares about the VMAs anymore anyway.

It’s under Viacom like BET, so it could definitely be going that route.

And why TF is Andrew Cuomo making the announcement as if the VMAs are an essential or relevant event?

The ratings will continue to plummet no matter what. Whether live or virtual.

They’ll give the Vanguard Award to a Black artist this year. My bet is JAY-Z, Usher, or Mariah.

GaGa, Xtina, Green Day, Eminem, & Shakira deserve to eventually win.

And watch the VMAs find a way to reward Beyoncé. Homegirl has been active lately aka she’s got something to promote.

I’m glad that its in Brooklyn this year. Barclays Center is big enough where they can still have a socially distanced show (and maybe I can attend. I haven’t attended a VMAs since 2016).

The virtual shit is boring. I want to see LIVE reactions.

And some of us want out of this pandemic. I’d rather watch a virtual show than risking the virus spreading even more.

Watching the 2000 VMAs on MTV last Friday (I missed the 99 VMAs) made me very nostalgic for the big deal this award show (and music videos, for that matter) used to be.

Maybe they can turn things around this year but we’ll see…
