Ariana Grande too for those shitty videos.

    Definitely more deserving than Taylor.

What can MTV do to surprise us in nominations:

1- Snubbing The Weeknd’s Blinding Lights in VOTY and nominate Justin Bieber’s Intentions or BTS’s ON.

2- Snubbing Post Malone in Artist Of The Year in favor of Dua Lipa.

3- Snubbing Dua Lipa’s Don’t Start Now in SOTY in favor of Lady Gaga’s Rain On Me.

4- Snubbing Tones And I in New Artist in favor of Arizona Zervas and Benee.

5- Snubbing Camila Cabello’s My Oh My in Best Collaboration in favor of Future’s Life Is Good.

6- Snubbing Demi Lovato’s I Love Me in Best Pop in favor of Camila Cabello’s My Oh My.

7- Snubbing Megan Thee Stallion’s Hot Girl Summer in Best Hip Hop in favor of Travis Scott’s Highest In the Room.

8- Snubbing Chris Brown’s No Guidance in R&B in favor of Lizzo’s Good As Hell and Beyoncé’s Spirit.

9- Snubbing Demi Lovato’s I Love Me in Video For Good in favor of Eminem’s Darkness.

10- Snubbing BLACKPINK and BTS in all voting categories except for Power Anthem and Professional Categories.

i don´t think mariah has a very impressive videeography, and she’s never actually won a VMA so…

I was thinking the same thing when I saw her name being suggested for the Vanguard award, but then again, if Bon Jovi could win one back in the 80s for a bunch of glorified concert videos, then anyone can…

That said, Mariah’s also been underappreciated at the VMAs. Even when she tried, they didn’t recognize her videos: “Heartbreaker” should’ve at least received some nominations, and “Honey” could’ve made the cut in a couple more categories.

Also, I love Alicia Keys’s “Karma” (it’s one of my favorite songs by her), but that Best R&B Video award from 2005 should’ve gone to “We Belong Together.”

11- MTV nominates both BLACKPINK and BTS in VOTY and Artist Of The Year and snubs 2 biggest artists of the year in each main category.

I mean, Katy Perry has a good/great videography. I wouldn’t mind if she got the vanguard. Homegirl could use a win.

All the Vanguard winners from 2011 to now were kinda relevant in the year they won for other stuff already, besides Missy. Mariah Carey would be really random and she seems a bit too untrendy for MTV. At least Missys style is still kinda hip. Jay-Z I could see win this for sure. If they’re going for a white girl, I do think they’ll pick Gaga over Katy this year.

    Definitely more deserving than Taylor.

I think quality wise the Lover videos were on par with the TUN videos. Ariana just had the bigger era, which kinda gave her the edge.

yes it will be someone relevant or someone starting an era. They only chose Missy because Twitter/media forced them to.

Also she’s in the talks to perform along with Ariana at the VMAS.

I believe the Vanguard Award winner is not performing a 15 min medley this year, instead giving a pro-BLM speech.

if someone performs a medley it should be Shakira for finally some Latino representation (from Latin America)

Mariah won Japan’s MTV Video Vanguard Award in 2008. So it wouldn’t be totally random.

And if they give the honor to a Latin artist, it should be Shakira or Daddy Yankee.
