I hope the list of nominees will look like thisthis More or less. This year Justin’s videos deserves some love. But last year Dua Lipa was snubbed in most categories and deserved everything, so who knows.

I don’t think best kpop will look like this. I think one nom per group.

De Una Vez by Selena Gomez should get a nom in visual effects, but It’s difficult for an Spanish song to get in.

I also see Megan Thee Stallion as an Artist of the year nominee. Not winner, but nominee.

    When are the nominees announced?

    Noms are announced in July.

Also I can confirm based on last year’s Billboard report that the VMAS this year will be held at Barclays Center.

Do u think Gaga has a chance with 911?

Also we may expect Rihanna to be back in May.

Maybe but not sure since she won some last year.

    I need Rihanna back!

She has chances since the video was well received.

Majority of people that won Video Vanguard/MTV Tricon before were nominated the year after:

2013 – Justin Timberlake After: was nominated in 2014 for Best Choreography

2014 – Beyoncé After: was nominated in 2015 for VOTY, Female Video, Pop Video, Choreography and Editing

2015 – Kanye West After: was nominated in 2016 for VOTY and Male Video

2016 – Rihanna After: was nominated in 2017 for VOTY, Collab and Art Direction

2017 – Pink After: was nominated in 2018 for Pop

    2020 – Lady Gaga After: ?

I’m not getting my hopes up for Rihanna to release anymore. When it happens it’ll be a moment. But I doubt she’s dropping anytime soon. Same goes for Adele.

I don’t see a full-on cartoon snatching 9 noms. Is it even eligible for things like editing and visual effects? The original Save Your Tears version makes a lot more sense for the technical categories imo.

If Savage was nominated with the original version with the animated video, then The Weeknd & Ariana can be nominated for their animated video for Save Your Tears and it’s a official video.

I didn’t say a nomination can’t happen, but 9 seems extremely unlikely. Savage was Megans only eligible hit so they made do with what they had. And it still wasn’t nominated for any technical categories. Both Ariana and The Weeknd have real videos they can use.

I do think that Olivia Rodrigo will get a video nomination for “drivers license”, most likely in Best Pop. I also really loved the “deja vu” music video, but I have a feeling it will get nominated for something professional, perhaps the cinematography.

Also, Nick Jonas had a very interesting video with “Spaceman”. Again, I don’t think that would be likely nominated in a fan voted category, most likely professionally, like Best Editing or Best Visual Effects.

Not to mention, I’m a huge fan of KSI, YUNGBLUD, and Polo G’s song “Patience”, and the music video slaps too. I’m not expecting any nominations, but I have a feeling it might get recognized in some fashion, especially since people are really starting to recognize KSI as an actual artist, and not just an internet star doing this as a gimmick.

Finally, I think along with all your picks for Best Group, there’s a chance AJR gets included in there too. Yeah, I know, their music doesn’t exactly reach a large crowd and can sound over-produced, but they have certainly become quite popular since the pandemic began, and the brothers do have a hit single from recently. (Not Bang, but the popularity of it today is still enough)
