Last year, I released my list of my top 10 favorite albums of the 1980s. I’ve always wanted to a favorite list of the 1990s, which is personally my favorite decade of music. Making a top 10 list was too difficult, so this time, I’ve made a top 20. Like my 1980s list, I made a rule that I would only include one album per artist to make this list as varied as possible. I realize some of my rankings may surprise some people, and I’m sure many albums I don’t have on here may be on your own list. Nonetheless, if you’ve never listened to these albums, you should check them out when you can. Let me know what you think of this list and also list your own favorite 90s albums.

    1. R.E.M.—Automatic For The People
    2. Radiohead—The Bends
    3. The Cranberries—No Need To Argue
    4. Alanis Morissette—Jagged Little Pill
    5. Red Hot Chili Peppers—Californication
    6. The Smashing Pumpkins—Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness

Everyone here preferring Tidal over When the Pawn… is not cool. The 90s was full of crap and diversity like every decade. I will say it was the last decade where plenty of quality albums actually dominated the charts. It’s also the last time music videos and music television were truly relevant. That’s primarily why I miss it.
