Not impressed at all. It got boring really fast. I guess this is why he wants to release three more tracks before the album drops. I can see the bored faces during the superbowl already when he performs this. Hopefully everything else is better. Very disappointed.
What does this have to do with the images and videos that were released?
Video is cool though, but the song brings it all down.January 5, 2018 at 8:30 am #1202456699
If I wanted well made and entertaining funk/pop, I’d stick with Bruno Mars. The video was bad and the song was very repetitive. It sounded like he is try to keep up with Bruno and follow his lead instead of innovate. And Man of the Woods and Filthy seem like 2 completely separate ideas.January 5, 2018 at 8:47 am #1202456736
Kinda love this song. It’s catchy. My grade: AJanuary 5, 2018 at 9:01 am #1202456770
Catchy tune, edgy production, fun but slightly sexist video. How does it fare as a comeback / image reinvention single? My jury’s out on that one until I’ve given the song a few more spins.
It’s a little bit Bruno Mars-y but then, Bruno Mars is a little bit Justin Timberlake-y.January 5, 2018 at 9:35 am #1202456857
The song is not what I imagined, the production is interesting but the lyrics are quite forgettable, at this point of his career and his life Justin should be concerned about creating a more mature sound and this song does not show that, I wonder how it would fit in the context of the album (if it even fits).
The video is a rare mix between Steve Jobs, Magic Mike and I, RobotJanuary 5, 2018 at 10:04 am #1202456912
He hasn’t even been able to dethrone Bruno’s 4TH SINGLE off itunesJanuary 5, 2018 at 10:09 am #1202456920
The year’s first disappointment.
It is absolutely not what I expected. After all interviews, the name of the album, the collab with Chris Stapleton, I thought we would get some kind of country ballad, not this electro funk song.
Apart from this, I really wonder why he doesn’t prefer to make three-minute songs. Most of his songs are at least 4:30 minutes. The average of song duration of his last album was like seven-minute.January 5, 2018 at 10:21 am #1202456945
Gotta say, as much as I like JT, “Filthy” was a disappointment. The video was great, but I felt the song was way too weird and experimental for my liking. I thought JT said his new album was going to have more country/R&B swing similar to that of music from his hometown? This is the exact opposite of that.
I hope the rest of his tracks in “Man of the Woods” are better.

Looks like collaborations with Chris Stapleton and Alicia Keys.January 5, 2018 at 11:37 am #1202457052
Such a disappointment, I hope the album doesn’t follow the same weird sound of ‘Filthy’.January 5, 2018 at 12:29 pm #1202457103
Lead Singles are rarely representative of the album’s sound. I hated Perfect Illusion, Formation, 24K Magic, but I ended up liking the albums.January 5, 2018 at 9:42 pm #1202457459
Filthy was awful. The production change in the first 50 seconds was very off and just downright weird. The instrumental music was too noisy and screechy to even hear the lyrics, which were also cringy. “No this ain’t the clean version” lol, sounds like something Justin Bieber would say.January 5, 2018 at 10:45 pm #1202457485
I am getting a JC Chasez vibe of All Night Long I Think About Sex Direction, but not as good.January 6, 2018 at 2:42 am #1202457583
Honey, “Filthy” is very bad.
