Wild Side w/Cardi is out now! The song samples Aaliyah’s One In A Million.

The video took 3 weeks to shoot.

“Wild Side” is a great jump start to the new era. The video looks phenomenal. I really want Normani to serve us a solo smash for the next single. Solidify yourself girl!

Honey, “Wild Side” is very underwhelming.  Normani’s vocals are NOT good.  Cardi B is the only good thing about it.  This will be forgotten just like “Motivation.”  The reality is, girlfriend is never going to be a successful solo artist.

I like but don’t love Normani yet. She needs more memorable songs. I’m happy that her crappy label are finally allowing her to release music again. I look forward to seeing more music from her.

As a fan of Normani myself and being a fan of hers for so long (actually 7 years this week) I’ve been waiting for this moment. I definitely seeing her debut album having the longevity and success the SZA’s Ctrl had. Hoping for an album in September cause the VMA’s will be used as promotion for her.

it will be october if things go to plan

“Wildside” has grown on me a bit. Still doesn’t live up to the vid. She has yet to do anything all that interesting from a production or vocal standpoint. And we haven’t gotten a legit banger. But I’m still waiting and rooting.

I agree. Waiting for her album!

If they’re just random droplets then yes, unfortunately.

Being here to stay is great but that doesn’t mean that she’s going to be the Superstar people are predicting her to be. Personally I think that sort of hype is silly for someone who has never had a solo smash hit. Also she can be successful without being a superstar.

Normani lacks a presence. She’s a talented performer & dancer but her music is very much of the time. I’m rooting for her but I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s another Tinashe.

I agree, her music personally doesn’t give what the hype said it was supposed to give. Her stage performance and dancing is superb and she has shown how she’s able sing really well, but I feel like people hype up her name up as the “Future of R&B” more than here music and then are surprised when her music doesn’t become a hit. Still wishing success for her.

Honey, I’m sick and tired of seeing Normani’s booty-shaking/Beyoncé-esque dance moves in every damn video (BARF!).  You can tell she’s inspired by Beyoncé.  The main problem is that Normani lacks her own identity.  We’ve seen all of this before (and done better, may I add).

I mean, Beyoncé doesn’t own booty shaking. While Chloe is also obviously greatly influenced by Beyoncé yet is still interesting and is somewhat doing her own thing (once again, with a lot of booty bouncing). And I do think “Wildside”, both the video and song, is a decent departure from the Beyoncé brand. The problem is she’s just not that intriguing vocally, and none of her songs have really hit the spot yet.
