November 28, 2020 at 7:17 am #1203879465Beyoncé should have won for her self-titled, Kendrick deseverved for DAMN. Gaga is also extremely overdue for GF wins but I think she never deserved AOTY out of the times she was nominated. She should have won ROTY for Bad Romance though, really a bad choice on the panel’s side to block that from the GF, it would have been highly competitive.

Ok computer, Kid A and In rainbows were cultural and musical masterpieces, super influential. They deserved Nobel Prizes :p
Its not even close, i didnt even have to read the rest cause came on

Kendrick however is the most egregious case in recent memory. He was legitimately robbed twice for TPAB and DAMN. The entire NARAS committee should have been drawn and quartered for DAMN losing to Bruno fucking Mars

95 DAMN.
96 To Pimp A Butterfly
91 Good Kid, M.A.A.D CityBased on the critics decade end charts To Pimp a Butterfly also ranked as the #1 album of the decade so that was a big snub.
Radiohead also had the most acclaimed album all those years they were nominated for AOTY

I can get why he lost/wasn’t nominated for MBDTF though. He also had Watch the Throne eligible and the misfortune of being up against Adele’s 21.
When U2 won AOTY in 2006 and Bono said “Don’t worry Kanye, your time will go” I wanted to scream because his time WAS NOW.

2006 was the perfect year for him to win. U2 didn’t need that AOTY win, they should have won their 2nd AOTY for All that you can’t leave behind.

All of this.
Another perfect time would’ve been 2008, Kanye vs 50 Cent was thee story of music in 20007 and the face he succeeded commercially and critically. The narrative was right there.
Even he himself said, “I will only accept losing to Amy”.
