It’s shameful that there isn’t a thread devoted to one of the most enigmatic and talented performer/songwriters in popular music right now, so let’s change that.
SIA news in the coming weeks:
4 Grammy nominations (Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Pop Solo Performance, & Best Music Video, all for the amazing “Chandelier”)
Musical performance slot on “Saturday Night Live” January 17th (host Kevin Hart)
Debut of the latest video from 1,000 Forms of Fear, “Elastic Heart,” starring Shia LaBeouf (ummmm) and Maddie Ziegler (from “Dance Moms” and “Chandelier” fame).
The video is already sparking controversy and courting labels of “indecent” and “glamorizing pedophilia.” Here is a link to the video to judge for yourself:
SIa’s statement on the controversy from her web page:
Statement on “Elastic Heart”
I anticipated some ‘pedophelia!!!’ Cries for this
video. All I can say is Maddie and Shia are two of the only actors I
felt could play these two warring ‘sia’ self states. I apologize to
those who feel triggered by Elastic Heart My intention was to create
some emotional content, not to upset anybody. ðŸ™
Possible Grammy performance slot announcement (where I’m guessing she’ll do more of her performance-art driven concept without being the face of the performance)

I LOVE Sia and I’m thrilled she’s getting her deserves recognition and exposure.January 10, 2015 at 9:17 am #407935
I love Sia. She is one of the only artists that cares more about making music than being famous. Which is ironic, because I think she is getting even more famous as time goes by. I hope we get more singles and videos from 1000 Forms of Fear. And I would love to see her perform at the grammys, and maybe get some awards while she is there.January 10, 2015 at 11:33 am #407936
Nothing like a controversy to spur up sales Elastic Heart #17 on ITunes.January 10, 2015 at 5:52 pm #407937
Like her, but she needs to start facing the audience in her performances or I’m allowed to think she’s lipsynching sometimesJanuary 11, 2015 at 12:19 pm #407938
So if Sia goes to the grammys. Will she walk the red carpet? Will she wear a paper bag during the entire show?February 18, 2015 at 2:08 am #407939

Following the likes of Taylor Swift, Sia revealed on Tuesday that her next album is going to be “more pop” than what fans are used to.
In an interview with NME, the singer confirmed that she’s finished work on This Is Acting, the followup 2014’s 1000 Forms of Fear. “I’m calling it This Is Acting because
they are songs I was writing for other people, so I didn’t go in
thinking ‘this is something I would say,’” she said. “It’s more like
play-acting. It’s fun.” (Sia has written songs for the likes of Beyoncé,
Rihanna, Christina Aguilera, Flo Rida, Ed Sheeran, and more.)
Famous for hiding her face, or even entire self (here’s looking at you Kristen Wiig!),
during performances, Sia discusses the potential of performing live
elsewhere in the interview, which will be available in full on

What a damn shame that she lost Best Music Video. It doesn’t seem right that Sia and Florence Welch don’t have a single Grammy.February 18, 2015 at 11:16 am #407941
Excited for the new album!!! I hope the music doesnt sound like “manufactured pop” music that most artists are doing these days.February 18, 2015 at 8:06 pm #407942
I love Sia! Can’t wait for her new album!!! Especially seince 1,000 forms of Fear, in my opinion, was the best album of 2014.February 22, 2015 at 9:48 pm #407943
Sia is like the equally talented but more popular version of Robyn.
Within the industry there are only a handful of females who can match
her. Hopefully her follow-up to 1,000 Forms of Fear is able to move more
units, while maintaining its predecessors excellent quality.February 23, 2015 at 9:04 am #407944
Wow, surprised she’s already planning the follow-up! I’m sure it will be indomitable pop, as per usual with Sia. I just hope she waits a little longer before it’s released.
