411k copies also could’ve went #1 without tough competition, K-Pop group NCT Dream, they sell like crazy.
J Cole’s album regarded as one of the biggest debuts this year has made 473k units in total. She’s crossing those numbers easily.
NCT Dream had like 10-11 versions of their album for sale whilst the overall streams for the album are low in comparison. Nobody is listening to it, but that’s fairly normal. Outside of BTS/Blackpink, k-pop group albums don’t get good streams in/out of Korea.
Olivia is doing great. She’s not a global force just yet, but getting there. Although, it doesn’t make sense to note NCT Dream as tough competition. They aim for entirely different markets (east/west). Sales in the east are stronger and more popular than the west.
I’d take the mediatraffic report with a grain of salt.June 4, 2021 at 7:25 pm #1204287079This post was found to be inappropriate by the moderators and has been removed.June 4, 2021 at 7:44 pm #1204287086
I guess Olivia should do more marketing tactics for staying #1 album and song wise. Rappers Lil Baby & Lil Durk released an album, Polo G is releasing an album next week. BTS doesn’t stop with the remixes, it’s obvious that they are chart hungry and fans blindly buying it. I assume she should do a deluxe version for SOUR and bring a big name for a remix.
She will still return to 1 at some point..her album is crazy stable. Pulling 190k in 2nd week..she is gonna do similar numbers in 3rd week. She should just release more singles now and a deluxe like 3 months later.June 4, 2021 at 7:48 pm #1204287088
Also Olivia is definitely not local..her songs are pulling never seen streams in Uk
and first album to stay 1 for multiple weeks this year.she is topping charts in Australia and other Europian countries.
Her pure copies aren’t that huge but she is breaking streaming records in every country.June 4, 2021 at 7:56 pm #1204287092This post was found to be inappropriate by the moderators and has been removed.June 4, 2021 at 11:19 pm #1204287185
I know she’s stable but the names i mentioned are popular too. Also i want remixes with Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish. Billie especially needs a hit for promote her album.
I doubt those collabs will happen. Tay, Billie don’t really do collabs with trendy artists. If you see number of collabs in their discography vs other artists.. Billie even said she is not interested in collaborating with big artists. Taylor needs to Collab with people to sell her rerecordings so we might get one there..not for Olivia’s album.
Olivias album is lot more stable than Post Malones who is king of bb200 currently, so she is going to stay in top 5 of bb200 for a while and then she can release a deluxe.
As far as Billie is concerned, ppl are overreacting because of singles performance..her tour sold out very soon , ppl will still buy her albums…she needs a hit song for stability on charts but it is ok , her ep and debut album are charting above newer releases so a sophomore slump is nothing to panic about.June 4, 2021 at 11:45 pm #1204287202
A Billie x Olivia collab might happen because of their shared label, Interscope.
Not any time soon though. Neither of them need it rn.June 5, 2021 at 1:48 pm #1204287617
Billie Eilish + possibly collaborating with Olivia Rodrigo = BARF!June 5, 2021 at 8:59 pm #1204287924
I want the good 4 u collab with Haley Williams of Paramore. The mashup of that and Misery Business is great so I’d expect nothing less from their collab.August 11, 2021 at 3:33 am #1204391352

So they’re pushing “brutal” as a single?
Interesting choice. “traitor” had been the fan-favourite non single for months now and was rising on pop radio so this is definitely something. They might be pushing “brutal” at the rock categories in the Grammys too then.
I think her singles are being chosen to show her as a very dynamic, versatile artist. This is just my guess but I feel this is why “traitor” isn’t being pushed, it might be a little too similar in content and execution to “drivers license” despite being a fan favourite in streams.August 15, 2021 at 11:13 am #1204398157
“good 4 u” by Olivia Rodrigo is now the #1 song on Overall US Radio, becoming her second number one radio hit.
It also spends a fourth week at #1 on US Pop Radio.
It took a while tbh. (

I’ve been saying since the album’s release that “brutal” is a highlight from the album and deserves Rock noms! Hope they push it as a single. (I’m NOT delusional, I know it’s NOT happening but she deserves!)

traitor just got sent to radio so I would think that’s what they’re pushing for the time being, though brutal is excellent and would make a good single as well in the future.
