So what are you guys predictions on Dojas follow up. Not really sure when it’ll come since Streets has taken a life of its own kind of extending the Hot Pink era.

And she’s not going anywhere. However, I want a strong album from her. The mainstream hip-hip/R&B/urban gorls are a bit too caught up in chasing a hit and being trendy. Hot Pink was a cute collection of singles that dipped its toe in every genre and vibe. There’s nothing distinct about her yet. Every verse and beat just reminds me think of Nicki or Kendrick or Azealia or Rihanna. Give me something more distinct, something crazier, something less catch-all.

It gets better with every listen and everytime I have a new favorite song and at the moment that is Alone.
ReplyCopy URLAugust 3, 2021 at 3:26 pm #1204379547This album didn’t quite hit the spot that I wanted it to, and she definitely didn’t take any risks. But it is fairly fun, and even the slower second half sounds better with repeated listens. “Love To Dream”, “Woman”, “Need To Know”, “Options” and “Get Into It” are my favorite tracks. “Woman” should probably be the next single. And yes, it should be submitted to BPVA.
ReplyCopy URLAugust 3, 2021 at 3:28 pm #1204379555Not a day goes by that I don’t listen to at least 3 songs off this. It’s really my most played album this year along with Heaux tales

Interesting. What risked would you have wanted her to take? In what direction?
In my opinion, she needed a producer that is at her level of quirkiness but this album has made me realised that she’s one of my favorite modern lyricist.

She should do her submissions like
PLANET HER – AOTY,BPVA(BPR&BA)

Need to Know – BPSP
Kiss Me More – BPDGP,ROTY,SOTY,BMV
Options w/JID – BMRP,BRS
You Right w/The Weeknd – BR&BPNovember 11, 2021 at 10:26 pm #1204573407Planet Her is one of the best albums of the year. I feel like people really sleep on Doja Cat and it’s not right. She’s a rapper, singer, producer, songwriter, etc. Planet Her gets better and better with every listen. It’s breaking numerous records and 2021 has been her year. A lot of people don’t expect the album to get a lot of nominations for the Grammys, but she’s a definite frontrunner and likely to win for BPDGP for Kiss Me More. I see her being nominated for ROTY, BPVA, & AOTY. Likely nominations, but not locks are: Best Rap Performance, Best Melodic Rap Performance, Best Music Video, SOTY (for obvious reasons I.e. Say So).
