my 2 observations on this cateogry:
1. urban songs have a hard time winning here (even if big artists are credited to it, example: Suit & Tie).
2. if a song charted on multiple Billboard’s genre charts, it’s the winner.
3. songs by previously Grammy unnominated artist wins here only if the rule no. 2 is in play.
4. if a rule no. 2 is not in play, the most Grammy nominated artist wins here or the songs that got in the top 3 on Billboard’s Adult Contemporary chart.so the winner will be: Lukas Graham – 7 Years.

“Closer,” “Work” and “Cheap Thrills” all pull from the same audience, so none of them will win.
Twenty One Pilots are up for 5 Grammys, so there is always a possibility that they could pull off the win.
But “7 Years” is up for ROTY and SOTY and is a big AC song. So, it will win.

ReplyCopy URLDecember 15, 2016 at 5:22 pm #12019704857 years will take it. I’ve been calling it to win since the song first blew up.
ReplyCopy URLDecember 15, 2016 at 9:30 pm #1201970614This category is always easy to predict. Although hitting #1, Sia & Sean Paul’s track is very forgettable. The Chainsmokers had a huge hit, but that is not always a factor here. Twenty One Pilots could win since they scored five nominations and they are up for ROTY. “Work” also scored a ROTY nomination; but the song is too lightweight. ROTY and SOTY nominees Lukas Graham have a bland little number that meshes well with previous winners here.
SHOULD WIN” Rihanna feat. Drake, “Work”

WILL WIN: Lukas Graham, “7 Years”December 16, 2016 at 6:24 am #1201970745Well, I think it’s between Work,Stressed Out,and 7 Years. Well, We see that Closer is an EDM song. So, it’s hard to vote for an EDM song that should’ve be at Dance/Electronic field. Cheap Thrills is a pretty good choice. But,It’s seems forgettable by everyone.Stressed Out is obviously a good choice. It scored a ROTY nom. But, It’s kinda like a combination of Rock,Rap,And Pop. So, We got Work and 7 Years here. Rihanna could win it. But, the song is kinda more R&B than Pop and it seems overrated. 7 years is nominated for ROTY & SOTY. So, It’s really a good choice to win this. And,the lyrics and melody is perfect.
Should Win : Stressed Out

Will Win : 7 YearsDecember 16, 2016 at 3:00 pm #1201971058I think they would probably want the artist that probably won’t win any other award. So that’s either Sia or Twenty One Pilots. I love Twenty One Pilots and i gotta admit, Cheap Thrills is pretty addicting and good. I’m predicting Sia but would love it if Twenty One Pilots won.

It would be a disaster if they award “Work”, “7 years” is the safe choice.December 19, 2016 at 10:08 am #1201972125I think I’m in the minority of people that does not like Work. I mean it’s addicting and I love both Rihanna and Drake (although the despite the popularity of Views I thought it was, ok). But was Work really one of the best songs of the year? I mean I can barely understand anything she’s saying at the beginning and during the chorus. It just goes to show how much of a popularity contest the Grammys have become over the years. But Work was everywhere when it came out so… why wouldn’t you nominate it. She has a great chance of winning. But quite honestly, this is gonna be a tough one. Every single one of these songs were all over the radio. Rihanna is Rihanna so she probably has the highest chance of winning. Sia is a Grammy favorite (at least nomination favorite). And Twenty One Pilots was that Alternative act that blew up out of nowhere with back to back hit singles. This is gonna be tough…
