If I Can’t Have You is free-falling and too generic. It’s not happening.

Sunflower has had great longevity, but rap-influenced songs usually underperform in Pop, so I really don’t see it winning. They didn’t even nominate Pray For Me in a 7 nominee lineup last year.

Honestly… The only locks for noms in the pop field are Ariana and Billie.

Shawn Mendes could get a Pop Solo nomination. That’s not inconceivable.

A popular singer/songwriter/musician with a Top 5 hit? If that’s not Grammy bait, then IDK what is.

Katy’s new song is cute. I’d give it a ‘B’.

Is it an official first single or a promo track ?

Depends on how it does, but from what I’ve been seeing on Twitter of the event she hold, it’s a Single testing the waters…

Honestly Katy’s new song is one of the best solo pop songs that has been released during the eligibility period!!!

My best guess is that if the song performs well commercially it’ll give her the green light to move forward with her upcoming project. She probably had to reel it back in and start fresh when she dropped that atrocious track “365”

Katy Perry with a good song would be as likely to win as Halsey, Ariana and Billie or probably more. Though it’s too early to tell if the song will be a hit.

I think the fact that she didn’t win yet has more to do with who she lost to than anything. She lost to Gaga in TFM era (no surprise there). She then lost to Adele (of course). And then she lost to Royals, the same song who won SoTY that year.

So it’s not like she lost to less-competitive songs or anything.

Katy is BACK! I’m rooting for Pop Solo win with Never Really Over; can’t stop listening. Easily the best pop song this cycle (other than Always Remember Us This Way, if that’s even considered pop).

LOL Katy is the least likeliest to win out of the bunch. We have like 10 years of Grammy history with her. She is always a filler nominee if she has a hit.

How do you know she’s a filler nominee? Again, she lost to Gaga, Adele and Lorde at their peaks. It doesn’t mean she’s always destined to lose.

In a very weak year like this, she could easily win. Pop Voters consistently nominated her for almost every hit song she submitted in the Pop Categories. She just needs her submission to be a hit.

Get real! Katy Perry could NOT win a damn thing. As that poster stated, she is pure filler.

Ma’am if Xtina could get nominated two times last year for songs that didn’t even chart then Katy perry can surely beat out Halsey, Ariana, and Billie this coming year!
