The Pop categories will be a Harry vs Lizzo affair, they have the best 2022 Pop sound rather than some whiny ballads that do not define 2022.

Pop album: 30
Pop duo/group: Unholy (I wish it was ABBA though)
Pop Traditional: Diana RossJanuary 28, 2023 at 1:04 pm #1205272673ROM was not the most popular song in that lineup
It absolutely was, and it was a song by two of the biggest pop players in the world.

Rain On Me is not more popular than Dynamite lmao

Perhaps, but I don’t think that did bts/Dynamite any favors. Having an obsessed fandom fraudently mass buy your song to #1 only reinforces the generic Pop boyband stereotypes even more. The Grammy voters weren’t fooled and that’s probably a major reason why “Kiss Me More” beat “Butter” the following year. Anyways, here are my final pop predictions.
Pop Album : Harry’s House (Harry Styles)
Pop Solo: Easy On Me (Adele)
Pop Duo/Group: Unholy (Sam Smith & Kim Petras)
Pop Traditonal:Thank you (Diana Ross)

But Dynamite has far more streams too. Almost 3x more than Rain On Me has on YT and Spotify combined. Dynamite also has nearly the same amount of streams from Japanese streaming services alone than Rain On Me has total on global Spotify. It also has far better streaming longevity on top of those massive sales

not really, Grammys still don’t take boy bands srly, getting a nom is a feat i didn’t think they would achieve, it has nothing to do with the fandom….

Adele will win AOTY, probably even sweep

I can’t speak for the Japanese fans but I know for a fact that their U.S. fans were mass streaming in addition to mass buying (ie their “massive sales”). It was all over Twitter. “Dynamite” was TERRIBLE but their fans didn’t care because it was bts. The Grammy’s obviously cared because bts didn’t win.

I wasn’t surprised they received a nom(s) because other boybands have been nominated in the past ( NSYNC, Backstreet Boys, Westlife etc.). Plus, the landscape of music has changed a lot and their are many non-American artists who have been nominated before. I don’t think that fandoms are the main reason why boybands aren’t taken seriously by the Grammys but they certainly don’t help. They are just one part of the boyband stereotype.
