Charts DO matter when it comes to Pop Duo/Group performance. We all know at least a decently popular song wins this category.

Charts definitely matter in pop categories. In fact, they’re pretty critical. Songs that peak high during voting (Watermelon Sugar, Truth Hurts etc) have prevailed before. I’m predicting Unholy for BPDGP but a My Universe win isn’t out of the question.

If they mattered, why didn’t ‘Butter’ win Pop Duo/Group last year over Doja Cat & SZA? Butter went #1; Kiss Me More didn’t (peaked at #3).

Kiss Me More had more longevity in the charts. Butter was mostly streamed by dedicated stans, and therefore not many outside of the fandom knew it.

There are many artists with “massive” fan bases yet they don’t spam under prominent social media award accounts. That’s probably because the artists they support actually win more than fan voted awards. Deep down they know the truth and it bothers them even if they try to pretend like it doesn’t.

because kiss me more spent more time in the top 10 than butter spent on the chart overall, bts was 10 weeks at #1 and couldn’t crack over 20 weeks on chart

“Butter” was complete chart fraud. The song itself plus it’s 100 additional remixes were mass bought by delusional, obsessed stans. Even Billboard called it out and questioned bts about it. That’s probably why the song didn’t win.

Changed my mind.

I think Adele will sweep Pop. While we get a surprise win in Pop Duo/Group. Coldplay unfortunately… but lighting a candle for Doja to repeat.

They are a legendary group. That’s why ABBA is currently the most predicted to win BPDG in Goldderby. It’s literally that simple.
