They benefit from alphabetical order advantage, just like Coldplay, Camila Cabello and many other nominees and that “abcdefu” song getting into SOTY. That doesn’t mean they’re going to win something.
At the end of the day they still got into their genre field along with a general field. All I said was they had some support. Never said anything about winning in my OP.

• BPDGP goes to My Universe, with ABBA or Post x Doja as a spoilerYou all need to drop the BTS vs. Abba vs. Unholy vs. whatever you want to put them against, argument right now. It’s tiring, boring, and repetitive.
@Ambrosia: This is a public forum and anyone can have a different opinion. I am an Army myself, and it’s becoming annoying how you are dragging this further (around 10 pages!!). Not even Armys on other sns platforms are making this kind of argument that you are making. I would also love for My Universe to win this year (and they do have a chance). I even put them as my top choice on predictions this year. Repeat after me: NOT. EVERYONE. HAS. TO. LIKE. BTS. If they like them, good!, if they don’t is also good. Music taste is subjective, and we cannot force people to change their way of thinking (even if some of their arguments might sound childish and unserious). Drop the argument, because is getting annoying.
To everyone else, stop dragging this argument as well. Do not feed into it. Every time I want to see a talk about Pop Winners (which is LITERALLY the title for this forum) all I see is people talking about how BTS do/do not deserve the award. The show is just around the corner on Sunday at 8pm EST. Wait and see. But for the love of God, put at end on this. Thanks.

I recently did a final update for my predictions on the pop field. I will divide them into 3 categories (Winner, Runner-Up, Dark Horse):
Best Pop Solo Performance
WINNER: Harry Styles – As It Was
Runner-Up: Adele – Easy on Me
Dark Horse: Lizzo – About that TimeThis is easily a Harry vs. Adele scenario; however, don’t sleep on Lizzo. I feel that we could see an scenario similar to 2019.
Best Pop Vocal Album
WINNER: Adele – 30
Runner-Up: Harry Styles – Harry’s House
Dark Horse: Lizzo – SpecialIn my opinion, this is Adele’s to lose. Harry could surprise here if voters don’t shower him with love in the GF. Lizzo is a dark horse, but I doubt she is in contention. Adele and Harry are stronger.
Best Pop Duo/Group Performance
WINNER: Coldplay & BTS – My Universe
Runner-Up: Don’t Shut Me Down – ABBA
Dark Horse: Sam Smith & Kim Petras – UnholyOh the most talked category on this thread (lol). I believe any of these three could edge out the other for the win. I put Unholy as a dark horse because I am not sure of the voters’ feelings toward Sam Smith. This is his first nomination after 8 years, could this be enough to edge out a win?

Best Pop Vocal Album: 1. 30 2. Harry’s House (Adele will most likely win for her overall album. Especially, if she doesn’t win Album of the Year, which she still could. I really loved Lizzo’s album but I think her having an upset is just wishful thinking. Hopefully she doesn’t go home empty handed but the categories are just so competitive this year I don’t know what she can win.)
Best Pop Duo/Group: 1. Don’t Shut Me Down 2. Unholy (Despite the back and forths for days now I’m still going with these two as the final options. It will be the Pop legends vs. the Pop hit and one of them will take home the prize. 1000+ users/editors & experts on Goldderby think ABBA is the obvious winner for this category. I guess we’ll see.)
Best Pop Traditional: 1. Thank You. 2. Higher (I really hope they air this category live during the pre/main show just to hear Diana Ross’s speech if she wins. Her Grammy is long overdue and she deserves her moment. I’m not sure if she is attending but I hope she does. Or than that Higher could win.)

TBH, I don’t think Adele will be awarded as many awards as she has in the past. She might get one or two in the general field, but I don’t think she’ll sweep like before. I can see a couple of upsets especially in the Pop Solo category. I would be nice to see someone else get it besides Adele.
For Pop Group, while I did put Post/Doja as my choice to win, I can see them losing simply because voters might not want back-to-back wins for Doja. I think that was what cost Lady Gaga in that category last year. If that does happen, I have ABBA & Sam/Kim as alternatives. Nothing against Ed or Coldplay, I flat out do not like Camilla Cabello (mostly for how she treated her former bandmates) & I won’t go into detail with the KPOP stans. If Coldplay/BTS don’t win, I will feel sorry for whoever does win (except Camilla, of course). If the way they attacked Lady Gaga & Doja Cat was any indication for what will happen, now you know.

I find so many other bands/groups/artists better than who is actually up for nominations but I know not only will they never submit but also will never win as they just don’t get played on radio/streamed all that often or at all.ykw now i hope camila wins so yall can be quiet about bts and everyone else
I really hope that you’re joking because no one should want that racist to win. I just wish people wouldn’t be so sensitive and actually have mature conversations without acting like 5 year old’s. I don’t think that’s too much to ask. Those fans do this EVERY year. Why even come on this forum in the first place?
