If Diana Ross or ABBA win I hope they get televised acceptance speeches.
ReplyCopy URLNovember 21, 2022 at 1:39 am #1205162361Adele will sweep the General Field again, so if the passion for Styles is strong among voters, I could see him pull an upset in the pop categories like he did in 2021 and have that be his consolation price.
In that case, I’d tip on Pop Vocal Album. It does favor albums with a strong presence on pop radio and in that regard, Harry’s House has the upper hand over 30, with its 3 top 10 hits, two of them being #1 too.

So this could be the path for him to not leave completely empty-handed come Grammys night.November 21, 2022 at 8:00 pm #1205163265I swear if some old white person is without a major award and get nominated (Bob Newhart, Diane Warren, etc) Goldderby editors move heaven and earth to write articles to bring attention to lurking voters, but nothing (yet) on Ms. Ross. Come on now. This is her last shot. Voters are dumb and they need her 13 losses pointed out to them. Or else their lazy fingers just gonna go to Clarkson or Buble.
Don’t play her Daniel Montgomery!

November 21, 2022 at 8:38 pm #1205163294I’d be pissed if Kelly Clarkson wins for a Christmas album or Michael Buble wins another Grammy.
It’s time to give Diana Ross her due. Jack Antonoff working on the album could help with some “modern” voters.

Unholy sounds like something unique/fresh that can win in this category. Others sound too safe or bland.

Don’t Shut Me Down: they got the overdue for a grammy narrative which if voters care for they could for sure win, not to mention they got into the GF
My Universe: it doesn’t feel as big as some of the other songs in the category, but voters could want to finally reward BTS before their hiatus
I Like You: the second biggest hit in the category, it could also benefit from the overdue narrative unless they just really dislike post malone, but he could benefit from doja seeing how she’s a pop favorite and is in 4 other categories including ROTY
Bam Bam: congrats on the nomination camila!November 22, 2022 at 5:18 am #1205163456Honey, Kelly Clarkson would make a great Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album winner. That lady is serving vocals on those Christmas songs.
ReplyCopy URLNovember 22, 2022 at 5:30 am #1205163463Don’t matter and don’t care about vocals. I’d rather Diana Ross win her first Grammy in that category than Kelly Clarkson to win her fourth for the samey Christmas music with a “modern” twist.

Bam Bam: congrats on the nomination camila!i want to add the fact that the last two winners of Pop Duo/Group have all been smash hits! Unholy fits the bill! It would also be a great moment for the LGBTQ community!

November 22, 2022 at 1:54 pm #1205164281I genuinely think Unholy WILL walkout with that Grammy, I’m not saying this as an stan of Sam but looking at the signs, it literally has huge support upon release and the fact being Sam is been wrongly snubbed since post in the lonely hour with Successful albums & singles (Too Good At Goodbyes & Dancing With An Stranger being the their respective years biggest hits and flat out ignored)

November 22, 2022 at 3:45 pm #1205164397“Unholy” is soon peaking on radio but will still be doing great during voting. ABBA should push the “never won a Grammy” narrative and Coldplay and BTS the hiatus one.
ReplyCopy URLNovember 22, 2022 at 5:31 pm #1205164528Honey, even Stevie Wonder can see that ABBA is total filler. Those Record of the Year and Album of the Year nominations mean nothing.
ReplyCopy URLNovember 24, 2022 at 1:56 am #1205165740Abba is no filler. They are beloved by older white men and women, which has a considerable number of voters. They have a chance at winning though slim and they will take away substantial number of votes from older white men and women. In other other words, Abba may spoil Adele’s chances because they appeal primarily to the same voting block. 😁
