EASILY her best Album of the Year winner and is pretty much tied with Red for best overall. I think this album is cohesive, filler-less, and has the most thought out vision which are just some of the reasons why this is her best AOTY win.
2. 1989
While I definitely prefer Fearless to this album in my personal opinion, objectively speaking 1989 is the better album. It has a clear theme, it takes us back to 80’s synth pop but does it in a modernistic way, and it’s her first album where she knows EXACTLY what she’s going for and sticks the landing flawlessly.
3. Fearless
This is a great album and it doesn’t get the credit from people nowadays that it deserves. Fearless is not a perfect album, and it does feel slightly juvenile at times but that is what makes it beautiful. It really is just an album by a teenage girl who is still figuring herself out. The real genius of this album comes out in the ballads and self-reflective songs like The Best Day. The growth she exhibited from her debut album to this album can only be compared to her growth between Lover and folklore.
