    Hi all,

I’m going start working on adding Record/Song of the Year to the predictions center. As with Album of the Year, I’ll add to the predictions center as the eligibility period progresses and new songs are released. But there are probably already released or announced songs that I’ve missed from my preliminary list, and maybe something I’ve included that may not actually be eligible. Any additions you can suggest?

Alanis Morissette — “Reasons I Drink”
    Alicia Keys — “Time Machine”
    Alicia Keys — “Underdog”
Alicia Keys feat. Miguel — “Show Me Love”
Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber — “Stuck with U”
    Arizona Zervas — “Roxanne”
Billie Eilish — “Everything I Wanted”
Billie Eilish — “No Time to Die”
Black Eyed Peas feat. J Balvin — “RITMO”
Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani — “Nobody but You”
Bob Dylan — “Murder Most Foul”
    BTS — “On”
    Camila Cabello — “Liar”
    Camila Cabello — “Shameless”
Camila Cabello feat. DaBaby — “My Oh My”
    Carrie Underwood — “Drinking Alone”
    DaBaby — “Bop”
DaBaby feat. Roddy Ricch — “Rockstar”
Dan and Shay and Justin Bieber — “10,000 Hours”
    Demi Lovato — “Anyone”
Demi Lovato — “I Love Me”
    Dixie Chicks — “Gaslighter”
Doja Cat — “Say So” (or with Nicki Minaj)
    Drake — “Toosie Slide”
Dua Lipa — “Don’t Start Now”
Eminem feat. Juice WRLD — “Godzilla”
Future feat. Drake — “Life is Good”
Green Day — “Father of All…”
    H.E.R. featuring YG — “Slide”
    Halsey — “Graveyard”
Halsey — “You Should Be Sad”
    Harry Styles — “Adore You”
    Harry Styles — “Watermelon Sugar”
Idina Menzel feat. Aurora — “Into the Unknown”
    John Legend — “Bigger Love”
Jonas Brothers — “What a Man Gotta Do”
    Justin Bieber — “Yummy”
Justin Bieber feat. Quavo — “Intentions”
    Katy Perry — “Daisies”
Katy Perry — “Never Worn White”
Kelly Clarkson — “I Dare You”
    Lady Gaga — “Stupid Love”
Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande — “Rain on Me”
Lewis Capaldi — “Before You Go”
    Maren Morris — “The Bones”
    Maroon 5 — “Memories”
Megan Thee Stallion — “Savage” (or with Beyonce)
PARTYNEXTDOOR and Rihanna — “Believe It”
    Post Malone — “Circles”
    Roddy Ricch — “The Box”
    Saint Jhn — “Roses”
    Sam Hunt — “Kinfolks”
Sam Smith — “To Die For”
Sam Smith and Demi Lovato — “I’m Ready”
Selena Gomez — “Lose You to Love Me”
Summer Walker with Usher — “Come Thru”
SZA and Justin Timberlake — “The Other Side”
    Taylor Swift — “The Man”
Travis Scott and Kid Cudi — “The Scotts”
Troye Sivan — “Take Yourself Home”
Twenty One Pilots — “Level of Concern”
    Weeknd — “Blinding Lights”
    Weeknd — “Heartless”

I didn’t include Tones and I’s “Dance Monkey” because it looks like it was released too early to qualify, unless there’s an alternate/remix version she could submit.

Is Dance Monkey (Tones & I) eligible?

I would also add Time (Childish Gambino).

I didn’t include Tones and I’s “Dance Monkey” because it looks like it was released too early to qualify, unless there’s an alternate/remix version she could submit.

According to this article by long-time Grammy pundit Paul Grein, “The Recording Academy allows tracks to compete if they were released in the current or previous eligibility year, provided a) they weren’t entered in the Grammy process previously and b) they weren’t included on an album that won a Grammy.” Why not just go ahead and include “Dance Monkey” for now? It can be removed later if it’s not submitted and/or eligible, right?

    Anyway, some other contenders:

Ashe – Moral of the Story (not sure if original is eligible, but a live version has been released that definitely is)
    Bakar – Hell N Back
    Cynthia Erivo – Stand Up
Green Day – Father of All…
    Green Day – Oh Yeah!
    H.E.R. – Sometimes
    The Killers – Caution
Luke Combs – Even Though You’re Leaving
Luke Combs – Six Feet Apart
Luke Combs feat. Eric Church – Does to Me
Marshmello & Halsey – Be Kind
Post Malone feat. Ozzy Osbourne & Travis Scott – Take What You Want
Powfu feat. Beabadoobee – Death Bed (Coffee for Your Head)
Thomas Rhett feat. Reba McEntire, Hillary Scott, Chris Tomlin & Keith Urban – Be a Light
    Surfaces – Sunday Best
Travis Scott – Highest in the Room

Hi Daniel, the Recording Academy released extensive guidelines on what is and isn’t eligible today, and “Dance Monkey” – assuming it was not submitted last year – should be eligible since it was released on an EP that came out in last year’s eligibility period:

A track or single from a previous year’s album is eligible in the General, Pop, Dance, Gospel/CCM, Rock, R&B, Rap, Country, and American Roots Music Fields provided the recording was not entered as a track or single the previous year and provided the album did not win a GRAMMY in a performance category.

When are adding these nominees? As well as BNA nominees as well? So we are able to create a separate forums for different categories.

    FYC:
AOTY: Fetch the Bolt Cutters or After Hours
ROTY & SOTY: Blinding Lights & Don’t Start Now
BNA: Megan Thee Stallion or Rina Sawayama
    Rap Album: RTJ4
    Pop Album: SAWAYAMA
    Rock Album: The New Abnormal
    R&B Performance: Do It

Thanks all! I’ll add in “Dance Monkey,” and a few of those others suggestions pending official word once the ballots are out. I’m hoping to get Record/Song of the Year launched within the next week or two (I need to add many candidates into the system). Best New Artist will take a little longer since that category got a little more complicated with the new rules saying it’s a subjective judgment of the recording academy whether or not an artist is new.

Whew! I managed to get Record and Song of the Year up faster than expected. Those categories are live now. Let me know if you guys see anything on the Song of the Year list that doesn’t belong, like covers that wouldn’t be eligible for songwriting.
