Many artists like Britney, Christina, Mariah, or others who were more popular in the 90’s and 2000’s are still continuing to make music. As we all know, they haven’t been as successful as they wer back then. So should they stop making music and let newer artists take over or should they keep going?
Also. Artists like Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, and many more artists that are popular now: Should they stop making music in 10-20 years from now?April 24, 2015 at 6:36 pm #410702
“Older artist” like they are 60. They should keep going. Elton John, Madonna, Cher, Bette Midler, Annie Lennox, Tony Bennett are still killing it in their 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s. Tony Bennett debatably is killing it the mostApril 24, 2015 at 6:41 pm #410703

No. Should younger? 😉April 24, 2015 at 7:07 pm #410705
If they are really talented, then they can. All the ones that KyleBailey mentioned as well as Bruce Springsteen, Paul Simon, Neil Young and Bob Dylan all make music despite being advanced in years. But these are legends in music. They have much more staying power than most musicians.

No. Any artist that wants to continue creating their art should be able to do so. Popularity isn’t the only reason to continue making music.April 24, 2015 at 7:15 pm #410707
the younger artists can take lessons from Barbra Streisand and Tony Bennett!!!Riley (the normal one, not the one who won the predictions contest)ParticipantApril 24, 2015 at 7:31 pm #410708

Hell no. What kind of ageist crap is this?April 24, 2015 at 8:40 pm #410712
What a ridiculous question. And putting Christina and Britney as the first examples? Common.
Didn’t Emancipation and We Belong Together come out with Mariah being older than what Christina and Britney are right now? Ray of Light? Music? Confessions? All came out after Madonna was 40. How old were the Green Day guys when American Idiot came out? U2 and All That You Can’t Leave Behind and Atomic Bomb? Cher and Believe? Fucking Santana? You do know how old Gwen Stefani was when she went solo right?April 24, 2015 at 9:43 pm #410713
If Paul McCartney can be revelant in young fellows minds with the hit “FourFiveSeconds”, then hells to the no.

What the hell?
Should Betty White not have taken roles in The Proposal, a series regular role in Hot in Cleveland, and an iconic guest-hosting gig on SNL… Because she’s an older actress?
Should Harper Lee not have written Go Set a Watchman… Because she’s an older author?
Should Diane Sawyer not interview Bruce Jenner… Because she’s an older journalist?
I am all for keeping kind on these forums if a topic doesn’t interest you. But I can honestly say I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a crazier topic.April 25, 2015 at 2:26 am #410715
People are being hard on yourself in this post, Jesus! I would say no… But I wish artists like Britney and Madonna would stop trying to follow the trends and go ahead making their own. I don’t like Britney Spears but In The Zone is a perfect album (Breathe On Me? Touch of My Hand? Early Mornin? Gems!) and I would rather see her going in that direction instead of that electronic You Better Work Bitch crap or associating with that White Walker that is Iggy Azalea.
