Let’s say Abel got nominated across the board along with Dua, and Tay. Where would Taylor stand? After Long Pond Sessions and Evermore’s surprise release?

December 11, 2020 at 1:41 pm #1203912625I think Taylor would have still have taken AOTY. I think with people like myself are more confused of the nominations on how Justin Bieber can get a nomination can in before Blinding Lights, the biggest commercial hit and critical hit of the year. It’s more that he was not considered for the nomination rather than the win. Taylor would be a deserving winner tho. Folklore is that bitch, and evermore proved that even more.

NOT.
While Abel was disrespectfully snubbed, he was never winning AOTY. I always thought the sweep talk was a bit much for a one-hit wonder era. After Hours isn’t even the biggest male era of the year. Fiona Apple and Brittany Howard were the real competitors that they snubbed.
ReplyCopy URLDecember 11, 2020 at 4:16 pm #1203912963He would have had a BIG chance at taking SOTY I believe for Blinding Lights. AOTY would have been a stretch because if Kendrick freaking LAMAR couldn’t beat Taylor then I doubt Abel could have.

Agreed. He was poised to sweep. Which is why the BRP blocked him from being nominated in the GF.

you are completely right. Brittany was nominated across all genres and Fiona was poised to be nominated across the GF with Shameika/FTBC. They were the real sacrificial lambs to make way for a folklore win.

You mean ROTY? Abel has no good record in SOTY in fact, he never get nominated in the category.

He didn’t get blocked in ROTY/SOTY, he wasn’t even in the Top 8.

You have no proof of that. I think he was outright blocked. Next.
