I think one of the greatest examples of this for me would be “LoveStoned / I Think She Knows (Interlude)” by Justin Timberlake, but not necessarily in a good way lmao. While I find the first half to be absolute garbage, the second half is amazing and sounds like a completely different song.

I just remembered “Ultraviolet” by FKA Twigs. It’s such an underrated but outstanding song with an exquisite build-up to its chorus, which stretches from its half to its end.

Maybe I’m splitting hairs here (in that perhaps the two halves aren’t that different), but the first song that came to mind was Katy Perry’s “Wide Awake.”

I like the first half, but in all honesty, I listen to it so I can get to the second half, where I feel Katy’s vocal performance is pretty powerful.
