It is not about getting more Grammys now, she is the only woman in history with 3 AOTYs for now and thats bigger than having 30 Grammys, if Adele doesnt make it, it will stay like that maybe for decades, since there is no close contender for x3 AOTY in females.March 29, 2021 at 11:50 am #1204164266This post was found to be inappropriate by the moderators and has been removed.March 29, 2021 at 11:51 am #1204164274
I dont agree with the sentiment that her albums are too long or full of fillers. Folklore doesnt have ONE filler and I will die on this hill. Its actually surprising that an album that long has ALL good songs. No song is mediocre. Its actually one of the best things about the album. You can hear it in full and its always consistently beautiful.
About TS10 i would DIE for a collaborative album with female great artists like HAIM (or Phoebe Bridgers), that would be awesome.
Or imagine a soft rock (or pop rock?) album filled with songs in the style of “State of Grace”?? she could nail that with her current vocals! And then she could go full alt/rock, i think she could nail that, even an album full of experimental sounds, similar to WIMPII but even more experimental, like jazz sounds and whatever. I think she could smash a very experimental album, tbh, and i dont think its wise for her to go back to 1989/Lover PURE POP, after all that happened with folklore/evermore. Its like stepping back, she needs to step further and keep experimenting, she is a musical legend that proved she can do anything.March 29, 2021 at 12:00 pm #1204164299This post was found to be inappropriate by the moderators and has been removed.March 29, 2021 at 12:03 pm #1204164308This post was found to be inappropriate by the moderators and has been removed.March 29, 2021 at 12:14 pm #1204164339This post was found to be inappropriate by the moderators and has been removed.March 29, 2021 at 12:16 pm #1204164342This post was found to be inappropriate by the moderators and has been removed.March 29, 2021 at 12:20 pm #1204164354
We want something very in the vein of WIMPIII. folklore and evermore were great but they were slower albums, I would love for her to explore a more upbeat alt/rock sound, maybe incorporating some new instruments like saxophone.March 29, 2021 at 12:23 pm #1204164365
Her daughter Olivia is releasing this week. I hope it performs well , at least top 20, hopefully top 10.March 29, 2021 at 12:25 pm #1204164371
I really want Taylor to work with Ariel Rechtshaid. An album with a Vampire Weekend/HAIM vibe would be everything coming from her. Also, his pop songs with Carly Rae Jepsen are gold. I think it’d be a good matchMarch 29, 2021 at 12:25 pm #1204164373This post was found to be inappropriate by the moderators and has been removed.March 29, 2021 at 12:26 pm #1204164378This post was found to be inappropriate by the moderators and has been removed.March 29, 2021 at 12:43 pm #1204164409
As much as I despise the cursive singing all-lowercase-title “sad girl” genre of pop music, I must say Olivia does it better than anyone else. I hope her second single performs well, she has so much potential. The first person who’s debuted recently that gives me hope for pop.
I don’t even like drivers license minus the bridge but too many stans are rooting for her downfall…it will be lovely to see them seethe.March 29, 2021 at 3:13 pm #1204164680This post was found to be inappropriate by the moderators and has been removed.March 29, 2021 at 3:24 pm #1204164697
Does anyone else find it interesting that The General Field splits each time Taylor has won for Album of the Year?
ROTY: Use Somebody
SOTY: Single Ladies
ROTY: Uptown Funk
SOTY: Thinking Out Loud
ROTY: everything i wanted
SOTY: I Can’t Breathe
It’s also worth noting that 2021 was a year that both Song and Record went to songs that weren’t massive undeniable smashes. I guess I Can’t Breathe was more of a sentimental political impression rather than actual success. EIW in no way was the defining record of 2020.
