The album is fucking dope. It’s the only the usual GD haters spewing their pathetic venom. Taylor is a fucking lyrical musical Genius. She has the gift of putting together a group of gorgeous songs that work in harmony. Taylor is the artist of this decade haters better drink until they are passed the fuck out in the backseat of cars!August 24, 2019 at 7:09 am #1203037413
I didn’t really like this album. Though I’m not a swift stan, I did like 1989 and most of reputation. I just felt these songs were not catchy or listener friendly. I think she needs to go back to Max Martin.August 24, 2019 at 10:49 am #1203037702

makes sense. For this album the writing is top notch. You really have to invest yourself and pay attention to what she is saying in every song. That’s the beauty about Taylor’s music it’s all in the writing. With the exception of ME! it’s nice to have a friend, The Man and you need to calm down, The Lover Album has some of The best lyricism of her career.August 24, 2019 at 11:51 am #1203037835
9/10 of the songs on Lover made a top 10 jump in Spotify US. Album in it’s entirety hit 29M~ in streams today. Only 2M less than the top female debut. Likely sold 40-50k~ in streaming sales today. With 400k+ probably coming from physical and digital copies. Songs are still rising on Apple Music but 6 are in the top 10 right now. YNTCD and Lover could also possibly jump into the top 10 on the Hot 100 next week due to considerable jumps in sales, streams, and airplay.August 24, 2019 at 12:06 pm #1203037863
I’ll be really impressed if Taylor pulls another 1M+ debut… We’ll see.
If she does, there’ll be no question that this album is a success even by her standards.August 24, 2019 at 12:10 pm #1203037865

She broke the Target record that was held by reputation. She likely sold 150-200k~ at Target last time so I assume something like 300k~ is just from physical copies in its opening day. iTunes is likely anywhere between 90-200k. I think first day sales with everything accounted for will be 450-600k~. reputation did 700k but that was a front loaded album.August 24, 2019 at 3:04 pm #1203038103
Lover it might be the best selling album of 2019!
The Man, Paper Rings and YNTCD are my favorites.
I really don’t understand why she released ME! as a lead single…
I predict that The Man will be the 4th singleAugust 24, 2019 at 3:21 pm #1203038123
HDD predicts 725k-825k (1M RTD)
Based on Spotify, people seem to love The Man and Cruel Summer.
Cruel Summer is more radio friendly and typical 1989, but The Man may be more socially conscious.
Whoever helped her choose the first two singles made a huge mistake. The Man and Cruel Summer would’ve been far more successful.August 24, 2019 at 3:39 pm #1203038138
‘Cruel Summer’ would be a bit weird to release after the summer. Altho her current song does have a Christmas themed video so maybe it doesn’t matter. ‘The Man’ is my favorite aswell! Could also get some eyerolls from some people thinking women are already treated equal but who cares. I think she could make a dope video for it aswell. Like a reversed Blurred Lines or something.August 24, 2019 at 4:24 pm #1203038191
Cruel Summer would be a bad choice as a single right now because summer is over now lolll. But the fans need to stop paying Cordelia Street, and Miss Americana dust! Those two songs would be a better single for right now tbh. Those or Death By Thousand Cuts since its slow, mellow, and honestly works better in the colder season! The Man is also one of the worst ones for me yet its getting the most streaming plays…. I blame the GP not even the swifties for this.
y'all ugly and smellyAugust 24, 2019 at 4:29 pm #1203038201
Taylor got me with this album, wasn’t a huge fan of rep. “Death by a thousand cuts” , “Miss Americana and the Heartbreak prince”, “False God”, and “Cruel Summer” are stunning. 10/10. Like a lot of the other song but those are my top 4 that I absolutely love. This might be my favorite album from her. She probably could have gotten an AOTY nom if she had released a stronger single like “Cruel Summer” 1st. I really think she will win best pop vocal at least.August 24, 2019 at 4:41 pm #1203038212
I read the whole album was sent to radio, so whatever kicks off better could be the next singleAugust 24, 2019 at 6:05 pm #1203038334
Honey, you Swifties better soak up this moment because Lover will be forgotten by October.August 24, 2019 at 8:28 pm #1203038441
I get what Taylor was doing with this era. But the album isn’t my cup of tea.
The best song was “Miss Americana”.
I prefer Reputation over Lover.
