I was just thinking she could release The Man attached to the Scooter controversy. Cause Scooter has this attitude that he’s the man. She has a way of using her dramas as a positive selling tool anyway.

    1. Announce the Superbowl

    2. Drop all her rerecorded tracks

    3. Release a song saying she’s The Man

Could work without step 1 aswell. And she could even strategically align it with the Grammy voting periods to be relevant during them.

My guess is that Cruel Summer, The Man, and Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince will be the next 3 singles on the album: Cruel Summer because it’s the biggest fan favorite on the album so far and the other 2 because they’re very pointed political messages that seem tailor (no pun intended) made to affect the 2020 election. I don’t think the fact that it’s not summer anymore will really matter for Cruel Summer, but Taylor could always still release it as a single next summer. She can stretch those releases out pretty far.

    For Your Consideration.

I’ve been playing “False God” on repeat since the album came out. A masterpiece.

My only real complaint with the album is its too long. Me! doesn’t fit to me along with a few others and could have been cut.

“Cruel Summer” is ideal to be the next single because it doesn’t have a summer vibe, and the lyrics talk about a past summer.
Also, all who comment on the fact that it’d be weird for a “summer” song to be released in any other season, just know that “Despacito” was released in a January.

After a second listen, 1989 and Red are way better albums. All the songs sound the same on Lover. It’s a good album, but there’s not a standout song like there were on Red or 1989.

This album has grown on me quite a bit. It gets better with every listen.

    My favorites:

    • Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince
    • Cornelia Street
    • Afterglow
    • Cruel Summer
    • It’s Nice to Have a Friend
    • False God

Taylor is at the point in her career/fame she does whatever she wants. “Me!” Let’s put it as the lead single cuz it’s fun and I don’t care. 18 tracks why not it only took three months to record. Release it early? Do it. Put out three singles before the album drops? Ok. I’m Taylor Swift, I am the man now I run this show now.

I get this but she put herself at a real disadvantage by doing that. People were thinking Lover would suck and its actually quite good. In my opinion, Me!, YNTCD, and The Archer are the bottom 3 songs of the album and should have just been cut. The conversation would have been completely different if she released “Cruel Summer” or something stronger as the lead single. If she puts something better out to radio ASAP and it does well. I dont think its a stretch for a pop vocal win.

Is Soon You’ll Get Better about Taylor’s mother’s battle with cancer and the effects on both of them? I feel like it is.

Yes “It’s been years of hoping […] this will never go back to normal” is an illusion to the fact her mom’s cancer came back after they thought it was cured.
