it’s campy and fun and most importantly unapologetically uncool, I’m not too worried, now go ahead and listen to that springsteen album

I know it was produced by the same guy, but this really is a bad knockoff of “Royals.”

Me! was decent. This, though? Ass. I’m very nervous about this album.

They sound nothing alike aside from the chord progressions and the drums and the… holy shit it does sound like Royals, but on crack.

“State of Grace,”  “Treacherous,” and “Dear John” have nothing on this song if we’re being honest.

But anyways, I like it. It’s cute. It’s better than “ME!,” imo (although that bar is very low), but it’s also definitely not my favorite thing in the world.

As saturated as the 1989 era was, as soon as you heard Shake It Off or Blank Space or even Bad Blood, you knew they were instant hits. These songs she’s putting out now AINT IT.

That’s a really great point. I don’t think she’s been making the best single choices at all. Part of 1989’s success was attributed to how it’s singles (for the most part) blended smart lyrics, great hooks, clean production, and personality so well, a formula for mass appeal. This single manages that balance better than ME!, for sure, but also misses the mark.

Also, the fact that the album has 18 tracks can be a good thing, but it can also definitely work against it.

    YNTCD > ME!

This song is cute. Definitely a gay anthem.

Upon first listen I wasn’t sold. After the third/fourth, I gotta say this song is a bop! Loving that she put out a single for the gays. I can see this being a big summer hit.

YNTCD fucking sucks, lmao. Taylor is only good for a throwback nowadays.

I won’t be surprised if she submits YNTCD to SoTY. The committee nominated several LGBT-empowering songs in that category.

Never Really Over is a masterpiece compared to that.

We now live in a world where Katy have better songs than Taylor…

The song isn’t that bad, I just think the lyricism is atrocious.  Especially for someone who’s supposed to be representation of one the best singer-songwriters of our time. Like, gosh.. aren’t there better lyrics she could’ve used for this message?

Soooo one first listen I didn’t like it. On second listen I like it slightly more because of the theme however it’s still a weak track.

I love that she released a song for the kids but I think she she is going to struggle this era.

Taylor’s voice isn’t her best characteristic. It’s her songwriting. When that fails, her so-so voice sticks out like a sore thumb.
