yikes that was worse than ME!.

Indeed. Me! was a decent song except for the children theme which sort of sabotaged the song.

Though, I’m pretty sure she chose to release this song as a tribute to the LGBT community in the Gay Pride month.

But honestly, she might’ve sabotaged her own era since she didn’t pick a better second single.

This will be her worst album, lol. As saturated as the 1989 era was, as soon as you heard Shake It Off or Blank Space or even Bad Blood, you knew they were instant hits. These songs she’s putting out now AINT IT.

I thought ME! was an outlier but clearly not. I see the narrative she was going for but this is the perfect time to use the “and I oop—“.

The only way she benefits from this release is boosting ME!’s sales.

I feel like I’m the only one who really liked it. It’s not anything out of the ordinary but it’s a nice bop for the homosexuals.

it’s campy and fun and most importantly unapologetically uncool, I’m not too worried, now go ahead and listen to that springsteen album

I know it was produced by the same guy, but this really is a bad knockoff of “Royals.”

Me! was decent. This, though? Ass. I’m very nervous about this album.

They sound nothing alike aside from the chord progressions and the drums and the… holy shit it does sound like Royals, but on crack.

“State of Grace,”  “Treacherous,” and “Dear John” have nothing on this song if we’re being honest.

But anyways, I like it. It’s cute. It’s better than “ME!,” imo (although that bar is very low), but it’s also definitely not my favorite thing in the world.

As saturated as the 1989 era was, as soon as you heard Shake It Off or Blank Space or even Bad Blood, you knew they were instant hits. These songs she’s putting out now AINT IT.

That’s a really great point. I don’t think she’s been making the best single choices at all. Part of 1989’s success was attributed to how it’s singles (for the most part) blended smart lyrics, great hooks, clean production, and personality so well, a formula for mass appeal. This single manages that balance better than ME!, for sure, but also misses the mark.

Also, the fact that the album has 18 tracks can be a good thing, but it can also definitely work against it.

    YNTCD > ME!

This song is cute. Definitely a gay anthem.
