I think LGO will spend one week as #1 due to sales. It doesn’t have the spins or play listing it needs. Dynamite might crack the top 10 again this week.November 21, 2020 at 7:26 am #1203852639

Dynamite will be top 10 for sure. LGO might be #1 due to sales.
Anyone know how many LGO physicals were sold…
…and when mine will be shipped lol?November 21, 2020 at 7:28 am #1203852642
Yours hasn’t shipped yet? I got my vinyl yesterday.
No idea on how many were sold. Did they restock them after selling out??November 21, 2020 at 7:32 am #1203852657

I got mine from the D2C store and it hasn’t shipped yet, neither has my album. I got the cassette though, not the vinyl (they were sold out).
To my knowledge, the vinyl and cassette both sold out twice.November 21, 2020 at 8:19 am #1203852770
Dynamite had 40k physicals so I expect the same for Life Goes On honestly . It all depends on the digitals howeverNovember 21, 2020 at 8:22 am #1203852777
Not Columbia tweeting about Dynamite. I can’t.November 21, 2020 at 8:54 am #1203852866
I’m happy about how LGO and BE are doing, considering the lack of promo and support. I really don’t think charting was the main concern with this album like with Dynamite, but the good results are always a a way to show appreciation for BTS and help push them higher. I am really loving the positivity of this era, I think most armys had their expectations exceeded or matched. Bummed about Columbia being an ass and ignoring LGO in the US, but I expected it. As much as I wish it would be different, at the end of the day BTS can only really rely on army and I’m sure the fandom will pull through. Even if we fall out after a week due to lack of support, if we can give them a Korean #1 with their names on the credits I’ll be satisfiedNovember 21, 2020 at 9:41 am #1203852976

This. Columbia is doing them dirty with LGO. It’s definitely not the time for that tweet when a second MV for their newest song dropped minutes ago. The lack of radio support is disheartening but not a surprise. People are arguing that it’s because Dynamite it’s their best shot at Grammys and is also part of the album, but still. Armys want them to top the charts with a meaningful song in Korean, a little help from Columbia would be appreciated.November 21, 2020 at 10:50 am #1203853104
I wouldn’t be surprised if Columbia is trying to repeak Dynamite and depending on how many CDs were sold who knows, it might happen…
I think trying to repeak Dynamite this week or pushing it this week is not the best move. People are arguing that it is because of the grammys but I think it can wait one more week. Noms are decided already and the voting for wins starts on 04.12 . What if they get zero noms and all this Dynamite pushing to the detriment of Life Goes On is for nothing? And if Columbia is so confident, why this week and not the next? Even if the next week chart is published on the 07.12 they can still push Dynamite all they want the second week of BE. Not to mention I highly doubt Dynamite appearing on the Top 10 one more time or even Top 5 or repeak will change any minds, whether the voters want to vote for the song or like the song won;t be affected by the charting rn. And in terms of visibility I am sure they already have heard the song or about it at least once . And a korean nr1 will bring visibility to the group too and press.
At this point I think Columbia only wants what they were involved in to be highly successful and nr 1. I mean they were highly involved in the making of Dynamite, they said they looked for the song, Ron Perry and his team were involved in the making of the song , they marketed it. They can take credit for it and for its success.. but they can;t on a korean song they didn;t even touch so of course they won;t look at it and the album twice… I’m disheartened and mad because I think I just realised seeing the numbers and the absolute tragedy that are the spins LGO is getting , that without the label support BTS will never have a korean song or album that they were involved with, hit so much that it can be considered for a grammy or big award. They don’t reach their full potential because of no push. The message is clear from Columbia, english or collab with our involvement and help or nothing at all…
And the audacity of that man to post on instagram about BTS overall streams and BE streams despite the fact that the company didn;t lift one finger and it was actually despite the bad playlisting that it debuted so well globally. smhNovember 21, 2020 at 11:09 am #1203853139
Dynamite continuing to do good and rise in radio will help with the longevity with Be.. more than LGO.. it’s sad but the fact is that America is an English speaking country and the GP and radio wants English music. LGO sonically is perfect for radio. Honestly all songs on Be could do well on radio.
Even big Spanish artist like Bad Bunny and J.Balvin doesn’t get good radio without a Spanglish Remix and Spanish is the second most spoken language in the US, so why expect a korean song with less than 1M korean speakers in America to have good radioplay.
BTS release Japanese version of albums and songs plus release Japanese original songs and they always outperform the korean ones, because as much as we hate to admit it, the masses more so cares to listen to music in a language they can understand. Dynamite is also outperforming the korean songs in Japan but it’s literally viral right now. This also explains why Dynamite is doing so well throughout Europe as well, english is a prominent language there wether it’s a primary or secondary language. Korean is not and why none of there korean songs do well over there either. English is truly the most global language.
There are many things in the industry that need to be changed but you can’t come into a country and industry and expect it to change the way they operate for you. BTS assimilating a little bit by releasing an English version of a song the same way they release Japanese version to send to radio is the perfect solution imo. Just like how Celine Dion, Enrique, Ricky Martin, etc. did but also continue to release music in their native language.
BTS has done amazing, being able to outsell pretty much all their peers.. massive streams, selling out stadiums globally.. but if they want to break into the gp and continue with getting the Billboard Hot 100 hits and longevity and Grammy and other award show recognition outside of top group and social they gotta give something.. it’s a tough pill to swallow but honestly it’s the truth. We’ll see what moves they make going forward.November 21, 2020 at 12:16 pm #1203853263
^^ This. i still dispise Ron Perry for bragging about numbers/records he had no involvement in whatsoever, but i think it’s time we start to learn to work with/’accept’ the treatment of bts by CR/radio. I will stay slightly bitter about it, but it is what it is. The boys showed what they could do if they assimilate a bit to the western industry & while i would have hoped for a more btsque song doing it, nobody can take away the huge succes dynamite is. also they are still doing crazy numbers this comeback without any support & the album was really good. I’m happy.
something i’ve also noticed about this comeback is the way armys are reacting to the numbers and records. I don’t see (any) negativity about not breaking certain records/reaching certain numbers . Everyone is truly enjoying it & while there are many still focused on breaking records (its bts/army duh), i love the general vibe.November 22, 2020 at 4:48 am #1203854063
guys, i think i’ve lost hope on the standards still coming…
im giving it one more week, but im really unsure about it
I hope im being proved wrong soon.November 22, 2020 at 5:44 am #1203854134
I think we’ll still get standards within the next couple of weeks. The Deluxe edition has done VERY well, I believe BH is pacing the overall release. As for LGO going #1, we’re giving it all we’ve got. If we can get one week at #1 with the song it will make history and also give a lot of good continuing positive press for the Tannies. CR has not surprised me one bit, still it stings for there to be NO real support. They know millions of ARMYs will buy & stream the hell out of this release, do groundwork promotion, push hard against every door, while they walk away and then try to take credit? It’s best we ignore & just stay focused doing what we do best. We WILL chart LGO despite the gatekeepers.
Jelly, I got my physicals last Thursday, keep an eye on your mailbox. Should be any day.
The album is stunning and I’m so proud. It’s being very well received and will be a star in their overall discography. A snapshot of our times.
AMAs tonight, noms this week, (really hoping for BPDG) still pushing hard toward the ARMY BE goals. Who needs sleep? Going to be an eventful week.November 22, 2020 at 6:41 am #1203854176
Yeah, I also low-key expect them to release more English songs in the future, like they do with Japanese. If Sweet Night and and the snippet of B & G are anything to go by, Tae’s (and probably also Jungkook’s) mixtapes will have English songs and I’m already excited.
However, Korean releases are what we are accustomed to, what they are more comfortable with, and should be promoted as well. I read that LGO wasn’t even sent to the radios and I don’t know if it’s true but might as well be. Anyways, looking forward to tonight’s performance, hopefully if will give the song more exposure. There are so many upcoming events for them, BTS stays booked!!November 22, 2020 at 10:13 am #1203854458
Yeah Life Goes On was not sent to the radios . Columbia sent sth for promo but it was only for Dynamite. CR had a hand in making it doesn’t surprise me it’s the only thing they are pushing from BTS ever… it’s ew imo.
As for more English songs I think BE was kinda of a statement that they won’t be doing that, at least not as a group. Normally anybody would have expected 1 or 2 english songs in their album after the success of Dynamite to tap into that hype and success and yet the TT was korean heavy, their b sides as well. I think just certain members like Taehyung and JK have interest in english songs but not so much the others ( idk about RM ) . I mean Stay and Blue and Grey were in English according to the members but they translated them into Korean. I think if they had any plans for more English songs they would have kept them in English since they were already written like that .
