The long-awaited fifth album by Ciara is finally out!
This is one my favorite albums of the year so far, and “Ciara” has been deservedly receiving great reviews!
Here are the first two singles:
Body Party: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B9rSBcoX9ak
I’m Out (featuring Nicki Minaj): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-TTNdyIMAE
Body Party is one of the best songs of 2013 (I feel this is like a female version of “Adorn” but better), and I’m Out probably contains the best Nicki Minaj verse since Monster and the beat is cray! I had never cared for Ciara until now.
The album is also only 10 tracks long and no filler!

Long awaited? By who? I think less people than could even be in a Target at a single time even bought her last album. The thing is, I like Ciara, always have. But girl better work like she never has if she ever wants to be relevant again. I wish her the best. Haven’t heard her new album yet, but I will soon.July 9, 2013 at 4:39 pm #388917
Some r&b fans have talked about the excellent “Body Party” and “I’m Out”, so there was some modest group of people anticipating it. I’ll give it a listen, those two songs were really great.
She also has a 70 on Metacritic, if it matters.July 9, 2013 at 5:20 pm #388918

Yes, you are right. Those two songs hinted at the greatness of the album, and it does not disappoint.
Also, here’s Ciara’s performance earlier this year at the BET awards! She gave me Janet Jackson realness:
I’ll forever be thankful for “Body Party.” The only tracks that I can consider superior from 2013 are all from another album (which is my favorite one from 2013), Yeezus.
And for “I’m Out” for giving me probably the best lyrics I have heard so far this year: “No, I’ve been there, but I like to Bangkok.” & “Pop her like a molly ’till them bitches recognize.” The latter is mostly for the way Nicki delivers it. I just love it when Minaj truly delivers and just raps. She can be so good sometimes. *sigh*July 9, 2013 at 8:53 pm #388919
S/O to Ciara for having a better Metacritic score than Jay-ZJuly 9, 2013 at 11:24 pm #388920
Finally watched the video for “I’m Out”, and DAYUM, Ciara and Nicki both look better than they have in a long time (maybe better than they ever have). Ciara, as always, can dance her ass off. Like the song too. And “Body Party” is hot.July 10, 2013 at 7:44 am #388921
Love Ciara, and I like the new music. Makes me long for the days Janet Jackson came out with a strong first single and great conceptual CDs. Hopefully we’ll hear from her soon.July 10, 2013 at 8:10 am #388922
I may have to go pick that up. Haven’t enjoyed new dance music in some time now. As for Janet, I used to be a HUGE fan. But haven’t liked anything she has done since All For You. I think she has joined Madges camp. Sadly. Back in the day it was all Janet, all the time. I have seen her in concert more times than I have anyone else.July 11, 2013 at 9:23 pm #388923
I never knew Ciara released an album. I just listened to “Body Party” for the first time today and this is really good. It’s too bad Ciara can’t achieve close to the success she had for her first 2 albums. I’m definitely going to check out the rest of this album.July 11, 2013 at 10:45 pm #388924
