2004: Record of the Year winner was NOT nominated for Song of the Year, as well as the Song of the Year winner was NOT nominated for Record of the Year.

2010: Single Ladies defeats Record of the Year winner Use Somebody in Song of the Year, despite not being nominated for Record of the Year (due to Beyonce submitting Halo).

2016: Uptown Funk defeats Song of the Year winner Thinking Out Loud in Record of the Year despite not being nominated for Song of the Year.

2021: I Can’t Breathe defeats Record of the Year winner everything i wanted in Song of the Year despite not being nominated for Record of the Year (or any other category).
