This is my first post over here and I’m so happy to here that “The One That Got Away” is the 6th single! Great choice!September 30, 2011 at 5:17 am #371206
I had to say that although she sounded a little rough at times, and while during some songs I doubted if she was doing playback, I have to say that her tour show was a lot better than I expected (and it was FUN!). She sounds SOOO much better Live-Live than Live-TV or Live-YouTube. Her show has nothing to be ashamed of and it’s up there with some of the best from current pop stars. I still think she has potential for bigger and greater things…September 30, 2011 at 2:11 pm #371207
The thing is, she probably will beat MJ’s record. She’s got momentum in spades. Every song on the record could be a single, and they’d all go number one. If pirating music wasn’t so easy, she’d may have broken Michael’s album sales long ago…. A scary thought indeed.October 2, 2011 at 8:46 pm #371208
I would’ve rather had “Hummingbird Heartbeat” as the sixth single, but “The One That Got Away” is a solid choice.
I am a little confused about this radio edit/”touch-up” we were promised, as the version sent to radio appears to be exactly the same (even the same length).October 3, 2011 at 1:58 pm #371209
While I don’t mind TOTGA, Katy really should have gone with Hummingbird Heartbeat. Although chances of either reaching #1 and her breaking MJ’s record are practically nonexistent. I doubt TOTGA even cracks the top 10. Katy should have recorded some new material and rereleased Teenage Dream.October 3, 2011 at 4:44 pm #371210
Wow, she’s going for a 6th single. “The One That Got Away” is the only other song I kept from the album that wasn’t a single, so makes sense.October 5, 2011 at 7:07 pm #371211This post was found to be inappropriate by the moderators and has been removed.October 5, 2011 at 7:18 pm #371212
Maybe, but we don’t know if it’s a re-release or an EP or a brand new album yet.
BUT I am so happy that “Dressin’ Up” will finally (probably) see a release! smash!October 7, 2011 at 1:44 pm #371213
I think “The One That Got Away” will be a hit. I don’t know if it will be another #1, but the sing is being released in a time where slow songs are what’s in. I think a lot of people will connect with the song.
BTW I hear she’s playing an old lady in the video.

One of her best live performances: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gK5JD_zGi8U (The One that Got Away on UK X-Factor)
I really wish her company would have released a version closer to what she did at the X Factor, instead of the drum-driven radio edit I heard this morning. I don’t think it will go number one and break Michael Jackson’s record to be honest…then again, who knows…”Party Rock Anthem” is one of the biggest hits…hmmm….October 26, 2011 at 10:45 am #371216
Don’t get me wrong, I like Katy, but I whole-heartedly hope that she isn’t the one to break MJ’s record.
It just wouldn’t be kosher!!November 3, 2011 at 11:38 pm #371217
“The One That Got Away” is up to #16 on iTunes and has blasted onto the top 40 of the Hot 100. Sixth #1, here she comes.November 4, 2011 at 2:46 am #371218
I think we spoke too soon regarding Last Friday Night’s chances and that struggled so much to reach the top spot. I don’t know if people are using reverse psychology when they say a song will reach the top. However, i don’t think this will be a record breaking song as well.
