I agree with most years, but come on. Teenage Dream has been more iconic than all of the Pop Vocal since it got its nom, minus Adele.

It’s pretty weird that someone with 3 Diamond plaques and 2 more on the way hasn’t even won in the Pop field. And I doubt it’s because of quality…just look at the recent winners.

Again, not a fan of her music for the most part, but at this point she’s gonna have to end up with a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award like Diana.
(PS: I do think she deserved to win with Wide Awake against Set Fire to The Rain (Live). I love both songs, but Adele has enough awards already, and that live version isn’t even that good!)

You’re a Katy fanboy in disguise. Please stop pretending to be something else.

Christina should have these Grammys to her name. Female Pop Vocal: Genie in a Bottle Nomination Record of The Year: Beautiful Pop Collaboration: A Song for You with Herbie Hancock Pop Vocal Album: Back to Basics Nomination Female Pop Vocal: You lost Me Nomination Pop Vocal Album: Liberation Nomination Pop Solo: Unless it’s with you Christina should Have at least three more Grammys to her 6 that she already won.

Christina has 5 Grammys and 1 Latin Grammy, it’s not the same

So many female solo or group rockers from the 1980’s went unrewarded. Stevie Nicks, Bonnie Tyler, Joan Jett, Lita Ford, Patty Smyth, Heart, Blondie, The Pretenders, and The Go Go’s

Diane Warren wrote hundreds of bops including: How Do I Live (song of 1990s), Un-Break My Heart, Because You Loved Me, Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now, I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing, If I Could Turn Back Time…She wrote 10 #1s and a huge amount of top ten hits… She was nominated 9x time for an Oscar- Best Original Song and lost every single time, was nominated for 15 Grammys (3 SOTY) but won only 1 single time with Because You Loved Me in a best song from a movie category…She wrote lika so many legendary hits and is considered one of the best songwriters of all-time but has 9/0 oscars and 15/1 Grammys

The Pointer Sisters should have won more than the 3 Grammys that they have for Jump For My Love (Pop Duo or Group), Automatic (Vocal Arrangement) and Fairytale (Country Duo or Group).

The Pointer Sisters should have been nominated and won for the following:

R&B Duo or Group for Automatic
Pop Duo or Group for He’s So Shy
R&B Duo or Group for Dare Me
Pop Duo or Group for Fire

Mariah. She only has 5 awards out of 34 nominations. And none of her awards are from the general fields. It’s shady especially when it’s someone with insanely successful career (and mega talent).

Looking back, Bonnie Taylor definitely deserved to win Best Female Pop Vocal Performance in 1984 over Irene Cara.

“Flashdance…What a Feeling” has not aged well at all. “Total Eclipse of the Heart” has definitely remained in the public conscience for a long time. As far as the performances for both, I can see why Irene won, but Bonnie’s performance was better.

Not true, she won Best New Artist in 1990.

She still has them five awards and thirty four nominations. Toby Keith has only scored seven nominations so far and continues to wait on his first Grammy. Kenny Chesney has only been nominated six times and continues to wait on his first Grammy win. Five of them nominations are for songs that he did with other singers. (shaking my head)

Speaking of songs with other singers, that right there is one of country legend Alan Jackson’s two Grammy award wins out of eighteen nominations. Enough said there.

God bless you and him and Toby and Kenny always!!!

    Holly

P.S. In case you are wondering, Best Country Song is Alan’s other Grammy win for “Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning?”

I will have to agree in that I would have cast my vote for Bonnie Tyler because I feel like Bonnie Tyler gave a better performance on Total Eclipse of the Heart. On a side note, I can imagine Donna Summer singing Flashdance.. What a Feeling
