I finally just watched the clip of the kiss/hug. I haven’t read any of the media reports about the incident, so I don’t know if they’re being too hard on her, but she was CLEARLY not happy that he hugged and kissed her and had the most disgusted look on her face. Why would she react that way? I’ve never believed the story that she wanted Mary J. Blige to kiss her hand (why would she do that? She’s always looked up to Mary), but if this is how she acts on live TV when she knows millions are watching, I can only imagine what she’s like backstage. Her defense is that she had “Beiber Fever”? More like Beiber Gas.April 19, 2012 at 3:56 pm #380739
^You think she looked disgusted? She looked more preoccupied to me. Though if she was upset, I don’t see how it’s wrong. Maybe she doesn’t like the kid, or has to much pride in herself that she didn’t want to kiss a little boy live on television.April 19, 2012 at 4:27 pm #380740
Disgusted is an understatement. It looks like he farted or grabbed her tit or something when he kissed her or something:April 19, 2012 at 5:40 pm #380741
I think that something is being made of nothing and some people look for anything to drag on Christina about. People are acting as if Christina put her hand up to his face and said “don’t touch me”. It was a cordial kiss/half hug – good enough for Justin’s little impromptu rundown to the judges. It may have even caught her off guard. Christina was more likely focussed on the elimination that she was about to do after that commercial break. She was already emotional as it was. Even in the footage Carson is saying that Christina is about to cut one of her team members.April 19, 2012 at 6:28 pm #380742
^Exactly, it’s poeple making something out of nothing, she even said on twitter how rediculous it is that the media is again, spinning every move she makes. It’s rediculous.April 20, 2012 at 6:12 am #380743
Christina definitely looked disgusted. No denying that. She should be more aware of her actions when she knows television cameras are on her. And what does she have to be disgusted about? Whether she is a fan or not, Bieber is one of the most popular and successful artists in the industry right now. Is she jealous of his success? At least show a fellow artist some respect, particularly on live television. And her Twitter response sounded desperate and phony. Blaming the media for HER obvious reaction?? Sorry, Chrtistina honey, the camera doesn’t lie…..
And I don’t buy the “ohhhh….the media is after poor Christina” baloney. She brings it on herself and the reason she gets more attention focused on her than the other judges is that people are geuinely more interested in a trainwreck. Again, her antics get her the attention that she deserved and she is no more scrutinized than some of the other female pop artists in the game right now (not that Xtina is really in the game….).
And before her stans come at me for stating this, I am a fan of Christina (granted, old Christina) and “Stripped” is one of my favorite albums of the last few decades. However, I have been turned off by her overall personality and demeanor since she has been a judge on “The Voice.”April 20, 2012 at 7:40 am #380744
*Sigh* No offence but its ridiculous to keep going on about something as stupid as this “incident”. The simple fact is she gets bullied way to much by the media. The other men on the show act like douche bags a lot and they don’t recieve any flack. It’s her damn perogitive however she wants to act!April 20, 2012 at 9:27 am #380745
Honey, if this would’ve happened to Mariah Carey or Madonna, certain posters would be singing a different tune.April 20, 2012 at 9:51 am #380746

It’s her “damn perogative” to act how ever she wants and it’s the media’s and other’s perogative to say what they want about her. The idea that the media “bullies” her is pure, 100% bs made up by her fans in order to hang on to their ideal that she will once again be relevant beyond this television show.
And had Madonna or Mariah been that obviously disrespectful and bitchy, both of them would have been called out for it as well.April 20, 2012 at 10:04 am #380747
She has a habit of doing this to other celebs and can’t stop herself. Anytime it looks like she’s in anyway dissing another singer, especially if they’re more popular, the media will be smothered all over it like spray on tan.April 20, 2012 at 10:54 am #380748
First of all, this whole “media bullying Christina” thing is bullshit. It’s not like she’s making the evening news and it’s on CNN 24/7. It’s bloggers and entertainment news jumping on a media story. The Voice is a huge show, Christina has a reputation, and this incident supports that reputation, so of course it’s going to get attention. If Mariah, Madonna, or J. Lo had done something like this, you can bet it would get just as much attention. As for “some” posters on here, we’re all always going to defend our favorites, but the Madonna “hydrangea” situation is a great example. There were genuine reasons to defend her (the guy was a known media prankster, she didn’t know her mic was on, etc.), but that doesn’t change that her comment seemed petty and ungrateful. Maybe Christina had a genuine reason for being annoyed that he tried to hug and kiss her. Maybe he had horrible BO and she was reacting to that. But in the end, she knew a camera was on her and she clearly was unhappy with the kiss/hug. This is a pattern for Christina: saying a crew member who sneezed while she was talking should be “shot,” allegedly being standoffish with other celebrities (like Mary J., which I still don’t buy, but it’s on the record), etc. She publicly displays a lot of diva behavior, so why shouldn’t the media (and us) talk about it? If she doesn’t like being talked about, get out of the spotlight. She chose to do so for many years prior to this, so she could do it now.April 20, 2012 at 11:01 am #380749

BINGO!April 20, 2012 at 11:34 am #380750
Lol you guys seem to make something big out of nothing. The “shoot him” comment to me at least seemed all in good fun. Plus there are reports saying that the guy who sneezed was infant Jordan, Christina’s ex-husband. I don’t get any sort of snobbish or bitchy vibe from the Beiber incident. She Still gave him a hug and kiss right back and said to him “nice to meet you” and in a backstage interview she responded by saying that he’s a great kid and very popular with the ladies. By the looks of it. You two just seem to read in to any the media plasters in your faces. That elimination night Christina had to make up her mind and choose who to eliminate out of her two girls left she was already very emotional, she cried during Lindsay’s performance. And dead if y’all think think Christina is bothered by all this. She’s been through this her entire career and still remains a fighter.April 20, 2012 at 12:44 pm #380751
^ If it was Jordan in that video then I guess it’s funny. But she seemed genuinely IRKED that someone dared to make noise while she was talking. I just looked up the video to refresh my memory.
And sorry, you’re wrong. The first time I even heard about any of this was from this very thread yesterday. I made this clear in my first post on this subject at the top of this page. I googled the incident and looked at the video on Huffington Post. I didn’t even read the article, nor do I have any sense of what the media is saying about it. I don’t read the blogs or entertainment media. I watch legit news and I haven’t seen a thing about it on there. The video I linked to above repeats and zooms in on her expression AFTER the hug/kiss, and that’s what I’m making my judgment. Nothing more.April 20, 2012 at 2:51 pm #380752
Christina has never been a media darling. She doesn’t put on phoney smiles and winks toward cameras, the way that Nicki, Katy Perry, and some others do. She was disgusted with Beiber and it was all over her face. She should own it.
I respect her honesty.
