She’s never put out a bad album, just not a signature good album or at least something consistent. All her albums have a very huge flaw that make it hard to enjoy them. Stripped tries to combine to many genres, and I hated how she jumped bandwagons doing hip hop. B2B is way to long, there’s no excuse to put out a 2 disc standard album. Bionic has sone gems but it has some very very bad tracks that are beneath her (“Vanity” comes to mind). All my opinion though, I could see people feeling differently towards her albums.April 12, 2012 at 7:41 pm #369408
I’m glad Xtina is working with Cee-Lo Green again. I want her to collaborate with Linda Perry, Salaam Remi, Paul Epworth, The Smeezingtons and a few others on the new album.
Her last two albums aren’t bad at all. B2B was too long, but I like the first disc a lot. And Bionic is underrated. There are some missteps, but I can’t remember the last time I heard a pop album without some.
I feel Back To Basics is her best work, with Stripped as a very close second. Bionic is very underrated. There are some gems on there. It was just too long. 13-14 songs should’ve been the max. Even her self-titled debut is solid.April 13, 2012 at 7:29 am #369409
I actually just listened to Stripped the other day for the first time in a long time. I love a bunch of songs (“Dirrty,” “Infatuation,” “I’m OK”), but there’s way too much filler, and the hopping around genres just doesn’t work.April 13, 2012 at 12:54 pm #369410
I liked that Stripped blended different genres. Christina has the voice to tackle them and she did. The album didn’t need those intro’s and interludes.April 15, 2012 at 10:47 am #369411
There are way worse albums out there than “Bionic”. I think the two majors problems it had going were the god-awful marketing and handleing of the release, as well as the bloated track list (which was not only too long, but also arranged into an almost un-listenable order). “Not Myself Tonight” was the brick that sunk the boat. Once the boat started taking on water, I think the writing was on the wall and there was no saving it. Releaseing “You Lost Me” in an effort to save the project was the final arrow in the heart of the entire era.
I find myself listening to several songs from Bionic from time to time, but I thought the album was just a terrible listen from start to finnish. The track list was just dreadful.April 16, 2012 at 7:25 pm #369412
The Good: Xtina looked gorgeous on The Voice tonight.
The Bad: Xtina eliminated Jesse Campbell. He has like the best singer in the whole competition.April 16, 2012 at 10:54 pm #369413
The good: Christina looked gorgeous on the Voice tonight.
The bad: Christina sounded awful. 🙁April 17, 2012 at 10:18 am #369414
I am a HUGE fan of Christina and agreed that she looked amazing last night and this season of THE VOICE has her looking the best she has IN YEARS!! This is a major plus, however, she sounded horrible last night, was strained and just screaming, it was cringe-worthy to watch, I want her to just sing and hold some notes, she is forcing it and yelling and that was apparent last night.
On The positive, I see a lot of the old Christina coming back, which is great, she just needs to work on her vocals. I have faith her new music will be awesome and very honest.April 17, 2012 at 11:02 am #369415
I think she still has that voice, I really don’t see or hear a decline. She just struggles so much with Fighter. It is a very difficult song for her to sing. However, last night she still proved what a great performer she is.April 17, 2012 at 4:30 pm #369416
I hate that Fighter has sort of become Christina’s signature song. It seems as though it’s her go-to past hit for whenever such an occasion should arise. I’d rather hear “Aint No Other Man”, “Beautfiul” or “Come on Over” more often.April 17, 2012 at 7:27 pm #369417
I may be in the minority here, but I didn’t think Xtina sounded that bad last night.April 17, 2012 at 8:25 pm #369418
Omfg stans!!!!!!! She has just confirmed the first single of the new era on the red carpet for the voice. And it’s a collaboration with Ceelo! It’s called “Make The World Move” ahhhhhhj!!!! Gucci update the original post!!!!!!April 18, 2012 at 5:55 am #369420
Xtina was smoking something on “The Voice” last night. She kicked Ashley off….
