“folklore” is Taylor’s best album to date. It would be a shame (and truly quite unimaginable) if it were not in the running for AOTY. Regardless of the fact that it would be her third victory in the category, she’d be absolutely worthy of the win.

I hope that at least “invisible string” gets some form of Grammy recognition; it’s my favorite track off her album and a special hidden gem.

I think the 3 songs released are gonna be the only 3 songs off folklore, realistically you can’t promote an album right now properly.

You have the pop solo submission- Cardigan
    The Pop duo/group – Exile
    Then country song/solo- Betty

Cardigan will more than likely be nominated for Song of the Year and it’s a great way to reward her without giving her AotY.

I bet they submit Exile to ROTY for the edge considering the history of the two acts is pretty solid with the academy.

All main pop girls have huge fan base. But why these girls ariana, demi, selena, miley, nicki, cardi, etc.? flop when it comes to touring. These girls can’t even sell out an arena.
What makes taylor different from these touring FLOP girls?

Taylor has a way bigger fan base than any other artist in America. I mean, she has the best touring numbers than anyone by a country mile right now (or did), including Adele.

Taylor’s “flop” reputation made 345.7 million with 53 shows.

    Adele’s 25 tour made 167.7 in 107 shows.

I hH in it comes down to marketing and show value. Taylor can entertain people with a dramatic pricy show. Other people just sing in a a stage.

cardigan saw an increase in US Spotify streams today for the first time (other than Monday updates). Hopefully shows that it’s starting to stabilize a bit.

The new album is great. Taylor is one of the few artists I like today.

    30 Years of Ghost.

The predictes drop on Billboard next week is brutal, so yeah I really hope it stabilizes. Otherwise it may even miss Pop Solo.

I doubt she gets in BPSP at this point, though I never really thought she would anyways.

It still seems like a possibility, since YNTCD made it last year. We’ll see.

It’s a pretty song but she should have gone with august as lead because its pop and radio friendly.

Juice world team keep releasing new songs to add to his already 25 songs album. Pop smoke has 34 songs in his album. They will be #1, i think.

That’s certainly a very plausible scenario as far as submissions could go. I do think Taylor’s odds at winning AOTY are being greatly underestimated. Considering her competition (of albums released so far in the eligibility period), I’d say she has a very strong chance. Why deny her of the most coveted award? She could always still be rewarded in SOTY at a later time, but in order to secure an AOTY win, the stars have to align and that doesn’t come around often. Any possible backlash to her winning the big award a third time should hold no merit with “folklore” as universally acclaimed as it already is.

Any possible backlash to her winning the big award a third time should hold no merit with “folklore” as universally acclaimed as it already is.

There’s several reasons why Taylor will be politically subbed.

    1) Her name. Taylor Swift is often deemed overrated, she had one of the most successful albums of the last decade “1989” and this site was 80% just people saying Taylor Swift will not be the first woman to win twice. She’s either loved or hated. It’s clear with the negative/mixed reviews that folklore got, people don’t like her more than they can judge her music without bias. I mean Pitchfork ignored her completely until it was pointed out that they reviewed a Taylor Swift cover album before a Taylor Swift album. Reputation was the first album they reviewed then they retroactively reviewed her previous work.

    2) She’s a 30 year old white woman. It’s clear that folklore is acclaimed but the argument is “White woman wins AotY three times and a black artist hasn’t won since 2008”. People will say “Beyoncé hasn’t won yet Taylor has won 3 times even though Taylor has been the clear front runner each time she won.

    3) She’s already won twice. That will be on a lot of voters minds. Which boils down to “Is Taylor Swift official considered one of the greatest artist of all time?” Not just of right now. I would argue that she’s entering her 15th year of being incredibly successful which I’ve never seen anyone recently have her longevity. But going back to my first two points, can you compare her to Frank and Stevie? Is her songwriting ability one that can only be matched by people ranked in Rolling Stone’s GOATs list? Some would argue yes, others will riot and say absolutely 100% no.

In my personal opinion politically Taylor is at a disadvantage because of this. She deserves to be a potential winner, because she’s accomplished things that her previous winning albums did. Considering her acclaim and commercial success and shift of sounds. But the Grammys have never considered acclaim if so Adele wouldn’t have won for 25 not Taylor for Fearless. They care about success and rarely do critically acclaimed albums archive success.

I mean lorde got a single nomination for IMO one of the greatest albums ever. Just one, AotY and it has a 92 on meta and lost to an album with a 70 that took home everything.

    Just some thoughts.
