What a brilliant album!!!
1989 is such a great album. Personally its my favourite.
I sometimes feel like its underrated among fans as some fans think its not good just cause its the most popular one? Like some think its cool to dislike it. I think that lyrically its not weak at all either..music doesn’t have to be depressing to be good lyrically.
“Epiphany” is a masterpiece , it makes me feel like I’m floating

I’m starting the think there’s a lot coming this year. Multiple reliable insiders (as far as I know) have talked about re-recordings before summer and also that she’s working on new music. Plus that big collab that was mentioned and also this

Ideally I’d hope she focuses on rerecords and maybe tacks on a big collab to one of them for hype and then starts rolling out TS10 in the fall at the earliest.

I really hope she doesn’t even hint there’s a TS10 until LATE this year and preferably 2022 unless she wants to shoot her career dead in the water.
With rerecords, new MVs, Grammys etc. she will be so overexposed and the gp is getting tired. She’s done a good job so far of being quiet and building rerecords hype but she needs an actual ERA with PROMO and a PUSH and TEASERS and INTERACTION or else its just gonna flop commercially and be boring for the fans.
Even though it was kinda chaotic Lover era in hindsight was really fun like there was the leaked track list (carnal desire??), performances, MVs, endless teasers, she was so active and the hype was in full force. Folklore was an excellent move by her but after evermore I really just want a full era again 😭

Ok can we all just be grateful for how much this woman works?? Like she just released 3 albums back to back and is working on ANOTHER right now like wtf she is INSANE!!!
And the new album being “new territory” and “fans and haters alike will like it” means it’s either false god/rnb/jazz or rock we won!
Its probably rock and if it is it’ll be amazing and feature indie rock artists like the everlore ones (dessner+bon iver) plus the likes of phoebe bridgers or something similar and maybe even Haim (this time with a ROCK collab and they’ll be far more involved than in NBNC, probably sing a ton, too)

This will be my dream scenario: ROCK album involving prestigious indie talented artists that Taylor is a fan of, with very catchy hooks (thats why GP will love it) plus Taylor superior songwriting. Result= a smash.
It almost seems like the logical next step (its either this or she’ll go full alternative)
That would be so cool but Indie rock would basically be the same as folkmore so I don’t think that’s the “new territory” they are hinting at.
If she’s doing rock,it will likely be pop rock. Love her but does she really have the voice for pure rock? Pop rock would be the way to go for both critics and gp interest.
