If Taylor is able to win AOTY with folklore I think she’ll take some time to release the next full-length album. She’ll be busy with the re-recorded albums next year, and I think she should decide to also push a Christmas album next year. Then I hope she goes into 2022 wanting to deliver the fans stuff we’ll like even if it means not getting the academy’s full recognition. But I don’t think she is done being competitive at the Grammys yet. And I don’t think she’ll ever be. I think she’s sort of building towards a country comeback and if she is able to make a pure country album that really pleases the country world she could come back and win AOTY a fourth time. Taylor is the most successfully versatile artist of the 21st century so far (Lady Gaga is close but has been unsuccessful with some out of pop ventures) so I bet she’ll continue to grow and evolve, something the academy loves. I think counting Taylor out is always a mistake. She’ll continue to stay competitive in this industry, long beyond people think.
November 30, 2020 at 7:59 pm #1203886065I don’t think they’ll give Taylor any more AOTY’s if folklore wins … but she’ll always stay competitive at the grammys and she’s not fading out anytime soon, contrary to what people thought in the lover era.
Her next year could be her most eventful year because of the re-recordings and the grammys.

Well, if she continues to make folklore like albums then she’ll never win again but if she switches it up monumentally again I could see it happening. Especially if she maybe goes over to country again but goes in the way of Mean a song so many country people loved. If she can create a gigantic moment for a country return I think she could possibly take it again. But obviously not in the next 5 years. And yeah next year is gonna be huge for her.

She’ll switch up genres again. I’m personally hoping for an alt-rock album that she could submit for the alt category. Like imagine winning awards in three genres, that’ll be a moment.
But I don’t see her getting a fourth AOTY unless she makes something as huge as 1989… critically and commercially. She needs to be everywhere and make an era absolutely awe inspiring for them to consider her for an AOTY again (if she wins for folklore)

I think that once she kind of starts to fade, she’ll come out with a country comeback. That could take the country world by storm. Obviously not at 1989’s level but at a level big enough to garner country support for an AOTY win. Who knows. She is so unpredictable. And yeah I hope she does go more towards alt/rock, I’d love to see a project like that.

November 30, 2020 at 8:31 pm #1203886119When do you think will Taylor start to fade away?
Not anytime soon. I don’t think she’ll ever stop making music but I think she’ll eventually take a more artistic direction yk? Like go into musicals and theatre. Start directing more stuff. She’ll always have great album sales but after some time, she’ll stop dominating the charts and won’t be a part of the major social conversations anymore and that’s okay. Eventually, new artists will replace the old ones, we already see it happening but her loyal fan base but will always show up for her.

I don’t think she’ll ever simply fade away. I think she’ll of course stop being the mainstream force she is but she’ll find a way to evolve. I see her replicating what acts like Madonna did and stay relevant for a LONG time.

My theory is as she gets older she’ll do more behind the scenes type stuff. Writing with younger artists, writing for movie soundtracks, and I think she really does need to write a greatest hits musical. The latter two securing her an EGOT.
November 30, 2020 at 9:03 pm #1203886141I have always thought that taylor will go back to country because it isnt as ageist as other genres but i hope she makes a pop rock album full of songs like haunted, btr, story of us
She will probably start fading at the end of the decade but thats already a 25 year career so.

It’s a folk voter too. I really think Taylor is gonna capture the votes from a lot of these subcategories like folk. And I think she’s gonna eat up the country vote.
