I think her next album will be pop..seeing how successful folklore has been,she would want to challenge the notion that all female singers go to elephant graveyard before they’re 35.

so I think she’ll have 1 more big pop era,before venturing into a more artistic direction

I don’t believe that cardigan can win SOTY. Only commercially successful songs have won over the past 20+ years and I don’t think that will change now. Can anyone make a case for how cardigan can win?

Taylor won Songwriter of the Year from Apple Music Awards which is voted by the industry. Song of the Year is in fact also an award based on from songwriting. Winners from last year’s event also won big in the Grammys too: Billie, Lizzo, Lil Nas X.

It’s a #1 song even though it’s frontloaded. Anyway, I don’t know what source you use because there’s multiple flop/moderate successful songs that have won SOTY for last 20 years.

I want this so much, I want her to have one huge era like 1989 before she goes out but i doubt it’ll happen. I don’t think she wants to put herself out here in that sort of spotlight again.
